Chapter 23: Public Case

Scarlett's POV

Today is the day that we go to court. The leader of the sasaengs will be the one representing them. Chanyeol, Suho and I will be testifying. That means we have to get on the witness stand. Thsts the least nerve-wracking part of this case. The thing I'm really worried about is that this will be on TV. The people of South Korea will be able to watch this! That makes me really nervous.

I'm wearing a white blouse with a black pencil skirt. My heels are by the front door like always. Somebody knocks on my door. "Come in." I say to whoever is at the door.

"Are you ready to go, jagi?" Suho asks me. "Y-Yeah, I'm ready to go." I say nervously. Suho starts walking towards me and runs his fingers through my hair. I've been noticing that he does this a lot.

"Don't be nervous, jagi. Everything will be okay." He tells me. "But everybody will find out that we're dating and about the...baby." I say, Suho continues running his fingers through my hair and presses his forehead against mine. "I know. I really don't want them to find out about that but...we have to tell them. It's part of the case." Suho tells me. I nod my head and he leans back.

"This is going to be difficult for the both of us. We have to talk about something that we're still trying to process. We'll make it through this." Suho tells me and kisses me passionately on the lips. Then, somebody comes into the room.

"Hyung, we have to go to the courthouse." I hear Chanyeol say and we separate. "Alright, gaja!" Suho says to me and grabs my hand. We intertwine our fingers together and put on our shoes. We leave the dorm with Chanyeol and their manager in front of Suho and I.

~~Time Skip~~

It's been an hour since we've arrive and it's supposed to start soon. The last of the people are starting to walk through. I look behind me and I see the rest of the EXO members walking through the door. I guess they're here for support. I also notice that SHINee is here. I turn back around. Suho smiles at me and I smile back.

"All rise!" The bailiff says and we all stand up to welcome the judge.

~~Skip to the middle of the case~~

The sasaeng leader just finished explaining what happened during our encounter. She still thinks that I was trying to hurt one of the EXO members, thinking that I poisoned the good that I was going to have them eat for lunch. "Stupid, foolish girl." I think to myself.

"That is all, Your Honor." Her lawyer says and goes to sit down. The sasaeng leader also goes to sit down.

"Does the defense have any witnesses?" The judge asks. "Ne, we do Your Honor. We request for Park Chanyeol to take the stand." My lawyer says. I'm shocked that I'm not the first person to be called. I guess a Chanyeol is also shocked because he took a while to get up.

~~Skip Chanyeol's testimony~~

Chanyeol only gave out the basic information, like what we saw and what the girls were saying outside after EXO encountered them.

I was half paying attention until my lawyer started to speak. "We would like to call Scarlett Anderson to the stand." Reluctantly, I stand up and make my way towards the stand. I take the path and go take a seat at the stand.
"State your name to the court." My lawyer says. "My name is Scarlett Anderson." I reply. "Now Scarlett, can you tell us what happened on the day in questioning?" My lawyer asks me. "Ne, I was sitting at EXO's dorm, doing nothing. I looked at the time and realized that they would be having lunch soon so I decided to personally make them lunch and bring it to their practice room. When I arrived, I encountered the sasaengs and tried to take the back entrance so that I would have to interact with them." I say before my lawyer stops me.

"Did they see you?" He asks me. "Ne, they did. The leader was the only one to speak to me and was the first one to notice me." I answer. "Please continue." My lawyer tells me.

"The leader started to ask me why I was there. We argued for a little but before I decided to try to walk around then to the front entrance. That didn't work since she pulled on my hair. Soon enough, her and the other sasaengs started to punch and kick me. The good that I was carrying was ruined because it was thrown to the floor." I say.

"Did you do anything to the food, like poison?" My lawyer asks. "Anyi, I would never do something like that!" I reply defensively. "Do you remember anything after that?" My lawyer asks. "After a few minutes of getting punched and kicked, I heard Suho's voice. He came over to me but eventually, I lost consciousness.i don't really remember what he said to me since it all happened so quickly." I answered.

"Now, how bad were the injuries?" My lawyer asks me. "I had 3 fractured ribs, a lot of bruises and internal bleeding." I reply. "But wasn't there something else?" He asks. "Ne, there was." I reply, starting to get nervous. "Can you tell the court what that was?" My lawyer says. "There was blood coming from my lower region. I was told that the blood was caused from a miscarriage. I was 2 months pregnant." I say, with a tear rolling down my cheek.

"Do you know who the father of that kid is?" He asks me. "Ne." I reply while nodding my head. "Can you tell the court who it is?" My lawyer asks. "I-It's Suho. He's the father." I reply with more tears rolling down my cheek. A lot of people in the court room gasp. I heard some mumbling but it eventually got quiet. "What is your relationship with Suho, Scarlett?" He asks me. "He's my boyfriend." I reply. "How long have you two been going out?" My lawyer asks. "We've been going out for 8 months, I believe." I reply. "No further questions." My lawyer says.

"Does the defense have any questions?" The judge asks the sasaeng leader's lawyer. "No, Your Honor." She replies and I get up from the witness stand.

Everything goes smoothly from that point on. Suho wasn't called up to the witness stand after all. I guess my testimony was enough after all. I don't know if this will be the end of it though. Even if the jury does find her guilty, the media is going to have a field day with Suho and I announcing our relationship in court.
