Chapter 44: Temporary Leave

Lay's POV

It's 8 in the morning and I wake up to my alarm. My alarm is Miracles In December. Obviously, I would use a song by the group that I'm in.

I get up and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth, comb my hair and take a shower. After that, I get changed and go to Tao's room to wake him up. I do this every morning because he has a hard time waking up by himself. I go into his room but I see that his bed is already made and he's not in it.

"Tao?" I ask out loud. As I walk closer to the bed, I see that there's a note on the bed. I pick it up and start to read it.

Annyeong to whoever is reading this.
Mianhae for having to do this but due to some family issues, I have to leave. I'm going to be in China. I don't know when I'll be coming back. There's a lot of stuff going on. Please continue on as if I was there.

After I'm done reading that, I can only think of one thing. I have to call Suho and let him know!

Suho's POV

I'm woken up by the sound of my phone going off. I'm still at the hotel with Scarlett. She's asleep thankfully.
I roll over onto my side and grab my phone that's on the nightstand.

"Yoboseyo?" I say groggily. "Yoboseyo, hyung. Something happened here at the dorm." Lay says. "What do you mean something happened?" I ask him. "Hyung, Tao's gone. He's in China right now dealing with family issues. I read it in a note that he left on his bed." Lay tells me. I can tell that's he's very sad by this.

"Araso, let me get ready and dressed. I'll be there as soon as I can." I say before hanging up the phone.

I can't believe this. We've lost another member. What happened? Why is the group falling apart like this?

~~Time Skip~~

Scarlett is finally up and ready to go. The same thing goes for me. We're checking out of the hotel right now. I told her that we can't eat breakfast because something happened at the dorm.

"What happened? Are the members okay?" She asks me. "Yeah, one of them is just having issues." I say to her. "What do you mean? Who's having issues?" Scarlett asks me. Poor girl, I hate that she has to deal with this.

"Tao left and is in China right now. He's sorting out some family issues." I tell her as I get into the car.

"What? No, not Tao. she can't leave." I hear Scarlett say. I look over at her and I see that she's already starting to cry. "Wae?" She shouts. Her voice cracks.

First Kris, then Luhan and now Tao. I don't know how we're going to make it through this one. I hate that I had to tell the others about this. They're all going to be upset. I hope that Tao returns soon, I don't want to lose anybody else.

Lay's POV

I'm pacing in the living room, waiting for Suho and Scarlett to come home.

"Why are you doing that, Yixing?" Xiumin asks while rubbing his eyes. I bet he just woke up.

"Something happened and I have to show Suho hyung." I say with no emotion. I'm still trying to process what happened. Tao was the last person I expected to leave.

"What do you mean?" Xiumin asks confused. "I'll have Suho hyung explain to you after I show him." I say to him. After I say that, I hear the door bell. I quickly run to the door and open it.
I see Suho and Scarlett whose face is really red. Suho must have told her what happened.

"Show me the note." Suho says as he walks in the dorm. "Ne." I say and lead him to the room. I'm not sure what he's going to say once he sees it...

~~Time Skip~~

Suho's POV

I just finished reading the note hat Tao left on his bed before he left to China. The handwriting is messy. He was probably crying while writing this. I hey he doesn't like the fact that he had to leave. I'll be sure to call him or have Lay text him at least. Lay and him are really close to each other.

"What are you going to do?" Lay asks me. I sigh and say, "I guess we better announce it to the others before they find out through the media." I tell him.

I walk out of the room towards the living room, where all the members are gathered. I see that Scarlett is sitting in between D.O and Chen.

"What's wrong, hyung? I don't like this feeling." Sehun whines. "Then you won't like what I have to tell you." I say to Sehun. He gets quiet and the others start to pay more attention. I guess they're wondering what I meant by that.

"It appears that Tao has left and gone to China. He's written in a note that he has to deal with family issues. I'm not sure and he's not sure when he's coming back but he wants us to keep performing as if he were still here. We're going to do just that. Why? Because we're EXO and we are one!" I announce to everybody.

The members clap and I see that some of them are starting to cry. The one that I see is crying the hardest is Xiumin.

Scarlett walks up to me and hugs me.
"That's really strong if you to say in front of everybody, babe. I'm proud of you." She says to me and gives me a quick kiss on the lips.

"Gomayo, oh! Should we tell the others what happened?" I ask her rather loudly. The members look over at Scarlett and I.

"What are you talking about? What happened?" Kai asks. "If you two had sex, I don't want to hear it!" Chanyeol shouts and Scarlett laughs and blushes.

"Looks like we don't have to ask any more questions about that." Baekhyun says and him and Chanyeol high-five each other.

"You guys, can I say what happened?" I ask loudly and the members starts to get quiet. I hold up Scarlett's left hand.

"He proposed to me." Scarlett says with a smile.
