Wiping my tears from my eyes with a small smile, I stood up and gathered my things, packing them up like I did when I first entered the room.

I unlocked the door, and saw light. Real, natural light! It was so bright I had to shield my eyes.

When I had put my things back next to my bed, I turned around and saw (exactly how I had guessed) 4 people. Percy and Annabeth were 2 of them. The other 2, I didn't know.

They were both males. One of them was around the same height as Annabeth and also looked similar to her, with blond hair and grey eyes. He wore a shirt that said 'Hotel Valhalla'. I was pretty sure that was the name of some Norse afterlife thing, minus the hotel part. The other one was tall (like, really tall) and had pale blond hair, and blue eyes. He wore dark clothes but had a candy-cane coloured scarf.

Annabeth smiled. "Astra, I'd like you to meet Magnus, my cousin and his friend Hearthstone. Magnus and Hearth, meet Astra."

Hearth signed a hello in ASL. I signed hello back.

Annabeth looked at me, a little shocked. "You know sign language?"

Oh, yeah, I probably forgot to tell you guys.

"Yes, I do know some ASL." I answered Annabeth.

That is nice. Hearth signed.

I smiled at Hearth and Magnus.

"May I ask why you are here, though?" I directed that at Magnus, while signing along what I knew.

"Oh, we called them over." Annabeth said.

Magnus continued, "Hearth used a rune - othala - to summon Lidia - that's her name right? - to talk to you. Obviously, since Annabeth is smart, she figured the only person who could get you out of that room - which STINKS by the way - no offense - was Lidia. I mean, she was right."

Anyways, we have to go now. Hearth signed.

I wanted to know one more thing. Wait. I signed. I made the sign for How? Which was placing my knuckles against each other and facing my palms upward.

The othala rune. How?  I repeated.

Hearth responded by signing, Means heritage, family. You saw Lidia because she was like a sister to you. He spelled out Lidia by signing her name in letters.

Oh. I hadn't realised that. I guess she actually was kind of a sister to me. We had bonded over the time.

After that, Magnus and Hearth said their goodbyes.
"Can they come back so I can practice my ASL?"

"Sure, when it's less dangerous. We could even visit them if time permits!" Annabeth said.

They left and I sank back into my cozy bed, glad that I could forgive myself now.
