It took a long time. I had to hail cabs, ride ferries, and jump onto trains, but in the end, after one whole day, I made it to the Netherlands. I could take a short break here, then go to England afterwards.

Just when I had settled onto a bench to take a pause, I heard a voice in my head.

Astra! Can you hear me? Arya telepathied.

Ay, shiitake mushrooms. I thought without saying into my mind link. I had worked on trying to control what went in and what didn't, and it had worked this time!

Astra! This isn't funny. Percy was literally sobbing at the Poseidon cabin door. And Cast misses you too. He went up to me saying, "Where is aunty Astra? I can't find her.".

Does Thanaia have you? Are you being cooked into demigod soup so Thanaia can get your powers? Where are you? Arya called again.

I wanted to reply but I couldn't let her know yet. It was morning time in the Netherlands, so I was fairly sure that they would go to sleep soon.

I kept on moving and the next day, I reached England bright and early. I caught my breath in a nearby forest, when I heard hushed voices from a bush behind me. I peeked behind and I saw..

Eloise and Reed?

What were they doing here?

They were having a heated conversation about following someone and making sure they were ok, and that person turned out to be.. me.

I poked my head and when they saw me, they both jumped up.

"Astra? You're not supposed to see this! We were going to follow you to keep you safe!" Reed rushed, the words spewing out of his mouth. He and Kalen were similar in a lot of ways.

"This was Reed's idea." Eloise said. She was more introverted, not as much of a talker, like me.

I assured them, "It's ok, I'm not going into any danger. I just want to see my family in case I don't make it out of the battle."

They both sighed in relief, and by the time we had finished catching up with talks about things that had happened along the way, it was afternoon. The sun shone brightly in the sky as I told Eloise and Reed to stay behind. They nodded reluctantly and wished me luck.

I trekked out of the forest and towards the general direction of my family's house. I recognised a road from my childhood, so I followed it until night-time, when I finally reached my house.

I knocked on the door and it opened, a familiar woman stood behind it.

"Mom!"
