My phone blast my Metallica ringtone waking me up. I quickly turn it down hoping I didn't wake shadow but he was already out of bed. "Nice taste in ringtones." He said coming from the bathroom. I smiled and my phone blast again. I groan and answer it. "Hello?" "Knuckles it's your father. I was calling to see how you're settling in." I rub my eyes. "Im doing good dad i wished called me later I was enjoying my sleep." I hear him chuckling. "Like mother like son she is always sleeping in on Saturdays." He said jokingly. I roll my eyes. "Anyways I'll let you go love you son." "Love you too dad." I hang up and pull the covers back over my head only to have shadow pull them off. "Shadow what the fuck?" He smirked at me making my heart race. "Well I thought you might like to meet my friends and get to learn the college hangouts." He said and for some reason I want to go with him. "Ummmm sure ok" I said as I get out of bed. After washing my face, I threw on my black tee and red jacket with my black jeans and red converse shoes. I decided to let my dreads stay down. As I exited the bathroom shadow whistles teasingly. "My my you clean up good." He said with a smirk. I roll my eyes hiding the fact my heart is racing and my cheeks warm up. "Let's go before I change my mind" I said. He gets up and we walk down the hall. "YO SHADOW!" I turn to see a two tailed yellow fox running up to us out of breath. "Have you seen sonic and Mario?" He asked. "No I haven't Tails but I think Mario mentioned yesterday about going on a date with Peach today at the Charcoal Bar & Grill. Sonic honestly don't know where he is." Shadow said. "Damn it ok" he grunts then looks at me. "Oh hi there! Im Miles Prower but everyone calls me Tails." He holds out his had. "Knuckles Echidna" I responded shaking his hand. "Cool! Im guessing you're shadows new dorm mate?" He asked and I nodded. "Sweet Anyways I got to go nice meeting you!" He runs off. "He always in a rush?" I ask shadow as we continue down the hall. "Not as much as Sonic." He responded. "Who's Sonic?" I asked and shadow raises his brow. "You will see soon" he said walking ahead of me. "Oooooookay? Weird" I thought as I follow.
We walk to a cafe that was full of what most would call the outcast. My kind of place. Goth girls reading books sipping on coffee, artist snacking on bagels discussing new creative ideas, A few guys and girls reading manga talking about cosplay for a convention, and a group that we are walking to all look like they have different personalities but are the best of friends. One of them is a blue hedgehog who gives me a jealous glare when he sees me with Shadow. I see Daisy who gives me a smile. "Hey shadow who's the new blood~" said a white bat girl who gives me a wink. "Everyone this is Knuckles my new dorm mate I'm showing him the hangout spots around campus." Shadow said sitting down. The blue hedgehog gets up and sits on his lap all while glaring at me. "Hey I was supposed to do that today!" Daisy pouted. "I'm sorry daisy but I got to him first. Also Sonic Tails is looking for you so please get off of me." "Tails can wait" he said with a flirty tone. Shadow flips him off his lap. "Ow!" Sonic growled. "We aren't dating blue now go help tails" shadow glared. Sonic gets up and bumps into my shoulder hard before walking out the door. "Forgive him he's had a crush on shadow since high school. He just hates when another good looking guy is hanging out with shadow ." The pink hedgehog smiled. "I'm Amy by the way. Welcome." She pulls out a chair for me and I sit down. "I'm Blaze and this is my boyfriend Silver." The purple cat girl said and pointed to the white hedgehog. "This is my boo Luigi Mario's cuter twin brother" Daisy said as Luigi laughed. "I am not the cuter twin babe." He said. "In my eyes you are!" She replied. "I'm Rouge, Shadows good friend" the white bat spoke. "Nice to meet you all" I said nervously. "No need to be nervous sweetie we are a laid back bunch." Rouge said with another flirty wink. The waitress walks over to take our orders. "Steak and Cheese bagel" Shadow and I both said at the same time. We look at each other both blushing. He lets out a small laugh. "Heh make that two Steak and Cheese bagel Sarah." He said. She nodded as popped a bubble she blew from her gum, wrote it down and stuck the pen in her purple dyed hair. "Well then looks like you two got some things in common" Amy giggles. "I think you two would make a cute couple" said a tan and orange rabbit walking up. "Hey cream what took ya?" Silver asked. "Ugh Mr. Arnold talked waaaay too much about how he over baked the crust just to prove a point of baking." She said as she plops down next to Daisy. She noticed me sitting there and bolts up. "Oh I'm so sorry where are my manners! My name is Cream. What's your name?" She said with a smile. "My name is Knuckles and it's ok you looked a bit worn out. Nice to meet you Cream." I smiled. She sits back down with a sigh of relief. I couldn't help but laugh a bit. "So Knuckles why don't you tell us about yourself?" Luigi asked. "There's really not much to tell besides I'm from Angel Island and I'm wanting to experience life before I take my fathers place as Guardian of the Master Emerald that is if my older brother doesn't want to do it." I said. "Cool!" He said. I noticed shadow looking at me funny again. "Um..... Shadow you good? Do I have something on my face?" I asked as he shakes his head. "Sorry Dozed off a bit" he said. "Ok?" I said. Our food comes and we all enjoyed the meal. "Well what about hobbies?" Daisy asked sipping her latte. "Just chilling, playing a little bit of guitar, and learn a new language here or there" I said taking a bite of my food. Amy, Blaze, and Cream fan themselves being cute. "So hot" they said with a giggle I laugh myself. "What languages do you speak?" Silver wondered. "A lot" I replied. Luigi looks at me dead in the eye and said. "quanto è buono il tuo bagel? (How good is your bagel?)" "molto bene grazie per avermelo chiesto (very good thank you for asking)" I replied with a smirk. Everyone looks at me amazed and Luigi nods very impressed. "You are very fluent in Italian I like that!" He said. I chuckle finishing my food.

I stare at Knuckles just amazed by him he seemed a bit shy at first but he relaxes quickly when others start including him. The way he spoke in Italian even though I don't know what was said made my heart flutter. I look over at Rouge who's giving me the eye. I nod and we both get up without them noticing. "Ok talk you like him." She told me and I could help but crack a smile. That was all she needed before we head back to our dorms for a "snack".

Once I realized shadow and rouge had left I said goodbye and headed back to the dorm. Once I enter I heard someone in the room slurping on something. As I veered the corner I see shadow sinking what looked like fangs into a bag of red liquid.
I dropped my coffee on the floor and he looks up quick eyes widen in horror.
