Chapter 71: Matter of Perspective

After hearing that voice again and agreeing to it's insinuation, I was brought back to the scene that had happened before I was brought out of my dream-like state after fainting.

I was expecting pitch black darkness but what greeted me was nothing but bright light that then morphed into what seems to be a garden scenery.

"Hope..." I muttered when I saw my sister lying unconscious on the ground

Where are we?

"Mira..." she opened her eyes and looked at me

"Nasaan tayo?" I shook my head as I help her sit up because I didn't know the answer either

"Sorry." We turned to where that voice came from and there we saw Myrene

"I figured that you would end up here one way or another so I waited for you," she walked up to us then sat on the ground facing us

"I'm sure, you know by now that you both have Heaven's soul in you." She said and we nodded

"Heaven... half of her soul was corrupted as her conception was laced with darkness." Myrene said and raised her hands to caress my head and Hope's

"Darkness? Ano'ng ibig mong sabihin?" Hope asked

"Hmm... a contract, an illegal contract that bounded Hiroshi Ravien with Selene."

With Myrene's mention of the word contract, a scroll like parchment appeared before us. I immediately began to read the content and I felt Hope's hand gripping mine as we continue to read the content together.

According to what seems to be the contract Myrene is speaking of, Goddess Selene and the younger brother of the Chief God Yuan Ravien, Hiroshi Ravien, will be bounded together in exchange of Chief God Yuan Ravien keeping his position as the Chief God of the council. It seems that Goddess Selene had framed Chief God Yuan with the murder of Goddess Myrene Fantazia, the second and forgotten princess of Fantazia, hence, to save his brother, Hiroshi Ravien was forced to be bounded with Goddess Selene.

"Paano 'to naging ilegal?" Hope asked and looked at Myrene whose eyes reflect melancholy

"Father was not aware and the contract was signed during his reign." Myrene answered

"You mean to say, Goddess Selene used your death not only to clear herself a path to the throne but also to have a child that will secure her throne? But it doesn't make sense, Heaven was already born when you died, you said she was devastated when Hiroshi and Heaven died on the way to meet you." I said pointing out a loophole in her sentence

"Indeed, but I did say, Selene was suppose to be the Lady of Time, therefore, she is capable of projecting the events of the past, present and future since she was a child." Myrene said

"With that as her advantage, she used it to blackmail Hiroshi and when Hiroshi declined to her advances to conceive a child, she had Hyacinth's father's concubine, Duke Darius's birth mother, craft a potion, the kind that will put you into a trance and will obey to whatever order is given." She replied

Without anymore elaboration, Hope and I somehow understood what had happened and where Selene had used the potion she asked for, Heaven's conception was laced with darkness as not only was she conceived to grant Selene security to the throne but also because the mere process of conceiving her was tainted with dark amgic that had denied Hiroshi of the right to do as he will.
