Lindsay was into her second cup of coffee and fourth you tube video when she got a text message from Sara. Hey Linds can you meet me at the Restaurant I think I found something. Lindsay looked at the clock it said 10:00, Lindsay looked at the message again then responded. Sure can, I was just thinking it was time to eat and I have a craving for blueberry pancakes.

Sara responded immediately, great, see you at 10:30 and please come alone, I will explain when you get here. Come alone thought Lindsay, this struck her as odd, Sara knew Bubbie went everywhere with her so why this request. Lindsay looked at the clock again 10:05, holy fuck Lindsay said aloud I gotta get a wiggle on.

Lindsay started tearing through her clothes to find just the right comfy outfit, aha, she found it, her comfy brown corduroys,  a plain white t-shit and her favourite zip up hoodie. "Bubbie I'm meeting Sara for breakfast at the Restaurant and I'm going alone today" Lindsay called over her shoulder. Bubbie floated up to her and asked "why exactly are you going alone"?

Lindsay turned to where he was floating and responded with " because I want to have some girl time with one of my best friends, living people like that sort of thing" she teased. Bubbie made several attempts to change her mind but Lindsay was having none of it."Bubbie please" Lindsay said exasperated "I'm going alone and I won't be long".

Lindsay arrived at the Restaurant and was not surprised to see Sara at their usual table with papers and pictures scattered out before her, Lindsay headed to the table when the couple that owned the Restaurant Mark and Dan approached her with their usual friendly smiles.

Mark leaned in to shake her hand and Dan pulled her into a big hug exclaiming how good it was to see her and how they were sorry they missed her the last time she was there. Mark and Dan were always glad to see Lindsay after the robbery incident.

About 2 years ago some knucklehead though that the Restaurant would make an easy target for a quick score, he entered the store with his gun drawn and demanded money from the register. Lindsay, Andrew and Bubbie just happened to be there when the robbery or attempted took place.

Lindsay watched the nervous cashier fumble with the keys to the cash register when she turned to Bubbie and said "are you going to handle this or not" Bubbie pulsed quickly and started moving side to side " Aw Lindsay, why would I, he's just out causing a bit of mischief and his gun isn't even loaded, I swooped in and checked".

Lindsay's annoyed looked said it all and Bubbie went off to do his thing. The cashier was slowly scooping out the money when all of a sudden she froze, the bills wouldn't move no matter how hard she tried to pull them out of the drawer they wouldn't budge, "move faster bitch" the robber demanded still pointing his gun at her.

The frightened cashier tried to hand over the money she had so far but the hand that held the cash slapped the robber across the face without her effort. The cashier started apologizing saying she didn't mean to and doesn't know how that happened when SLAP! Another one to the  side of the robbers face, the robber  stood there shocked and unsure of what just happened.

Andrew looked out the window and saw two police officers on the other side of the street and waved to get their attention, Lindsay stood up and slowly walked over to the robber saying " you know your fucked, you picked the wrong place to rob and this young woman behind the cash register will keep slapping you SLAP! Another one across the robbers face "see, like that" she said with a smile.

Lindsay slowly moved closer to the robber who was still wearing his look of confusion and with one quick move snatched the gun out of the robbers hand and threw it on the ground, it landed with a loud clank. The robber snapped out of his confusion, turned to Lindsay and grabbed her by the hair and dragged her up to his face, Lindsay didn't struggle just responded with "if you wanna get rough with me I require at least 4 shots of tequila first big boy".

Without warning the robber flew into the air and landed with a hard thud on the floor, he was struggling to get up when the two officers helped him to his feet, then helped him into handcuffs.

After that day Lindsay was always greeted with  smiles and hugs from the owners and and waves and head nods from the regular patrons who were there that day and witnessed the unusual robbery.

Lindsay said goodbye to the owners and went to join Sara at their table "looks like you've been busy" said Lindsay as she looked at the reports and pictures that were splayed across the table, Sara started to collect all the papers apologizing for the mess but she was close to something and she knew it.

Lindsay sat down and started to look at some of the pictures on the table. "So what u got so far"? asked Lindsay, Sara pulled a picture out from underneath a stack of papers and slid it over to Lindsay. It was a black and white faded picture of a football team from the 50's and the flag read Millers Point Panthers, the name rang a familiar chord with Lindsay but couldn't place where she knew the name from.

She turned to Sara and said " the name of this team sounds familiar to me, what does this have to do with the case"?

Sara asked her to read the names of the team members, they were hard to make out due to the faded quality but she could see some names, especially the quarterback in the middle. Lindsay skipped all the other names and looked at the quarterbacks name.

Her mouth dropped open as she read the name Robert "Bobby" Winslow, Bubbie she whispered underneath her breath. She couldn't believe what she was looking at, this 6'2 buzz cut kid was her Bubbie, her eyes scanned the down the picture to the little boy who was holding the flag.

He couldn't have been more than 13 years old, he seemed so small compared to the rest of the team, why did this kid catch her eye. "Sara she asked" can I get a copy of this picture and is this why you didn't want me to bring Bubbie"?

Sara nodded her head and said "this photo was found in an cold case box, I had a hunch that the kidnapper was from around these parts, he knew his away around pretty good, so I went digging into some old files within a 40 mile radius and came across this picture as well as this".

She handed a faded newspaper article from June 24, 1956, the headline read All star quarterback, prominent daughter and friends killed in single vehicle accident investigation continues.

Lindsay scanned the article and asked Sara if she could get a copy of that too. Sara anticipated this told Lindsay that those were her copies. "I figure you could talk to Bubbie and find out who the little guy is in the picture and what he remembers of him, he seems too young and out of place, plus his haunted look seems to be saying a lot".

Lindsay was about to agree when the waiter showed up at their table with a stack of fresh blueberry pancakes, the smell made her ravenous "Oh Benjamin, you have impeccable timing, how did you know this is what I wanted" Benjamin nodded in Sara's direction, "ask your friend, she seemed to know what you wanted the moment you walked in here and ordered it just before you sat down.

Sara looked at Lindsay and said nonchalantly "I'm a detective, I know how to read people, I know everything, plus you told me in your text that you wanted them" she said this last bit with a smile on her face. Lindsay laughed and dove into her pancakes, through a mouthful of food she said to Sara "you really are my favourite Dic".
