Lindsay and Oliver drove back to her apartment in silence both deep in thought, when they pulled up Oliver turned to her and asked "whose Bubbie?" Lindsay felt her stomach drop, how did he know she thought, did she hear her talking with Andrew does he got a whisper 3000 or some shit.

Lindsay looked back at Oliver and said with a smile "whose who?" Oliver looked at Lindsay with a serious look and explained that just before they left she said come on Bubbie we gotta go now, "so whose Bubbie?" he asked again.

Lindsay stared at Oliver then replied "come upstairs and I'll explain, and know that if you want to leave after I totally get it". Oliver felt his stomach flutter with excitement, he hadn't had any adventures or mystery in his life for so long and his adventurous spirit was craving it.

They sat on Lindsay's couch one on either end looking like kids with crushes on each other but afraid to touch, Lindsay took a moment to compose her self then turned to Oliver and began "I have a spirit attached to me, he has been with me since the minute I was born and will be with me until the day I die, his name is Bubbie" she turned towards Bubbie's shimmer and added "and he's one of my best friends, oh and I can also see other spirits and can hear them and they can hear me".

She waited for Oliver to laugh and ask her if it was a joke but he just sat there for what seemed like ages "please say something" she said.

Oliver was familiar with spirits, he remembered seeing them one night while on peyote he thought it was a hallucination but the things they said were real and things that they said would happen were real too, he looked over at Lindsay and thought is she part of the real too, they said he would meet and open soul and to approach with caution, now he wondered if Lindsay was the open soul.

He looked at Lindsay who watched him anxiously and could only think of one question that mattered at the moment "he wasn't there when we were banging was he?" and smiled.

Lindsay couldn't stop the surprised look on her face, was that really his question she thought to herself, she had to admit he was taking it better than she thought he would "so that's your only question?" she asked him, Lindsay didn't think it was but she really didn't know how he thought, they've only known each other a few days and she already had sex with him and now told him about Bubbie, it was at least two years after she met Sara that she told her of Bubbie, what made him so different she thought with a touch of apprehension.

Oliver had many more questions but didn't feel like bombarding her, he wanted to make this conversation last he had to know if she was the open soul, he already figured Andrew knew, you couldn't be that close to someone and not know, Oliver didn't know how to describe Lindsay's and Andrew's relationship, on many levels it seems like a brother and sister relationship, but there's an intimate level too, like two people who went through something and were now forever connected by a bond stronger than life. He wished he had someone like that, years of travel and adventure didn't leave much time for lasting connections. He asked Lindsay one more question "what happened at the church tonight wasn't done by vandals was it?"

Again Lindsay couldn't help be surprise at how well he was taking it and how he seemed so calm with it, she told him that she suspects it was a spirit she had dealt with before and it was the most evil spirit she had ever met, she wasn't going to tell him about the graveyard, not without Andrew's permission, it was his story too, she began to wonder what his backstory was, other than Mark's younger brother and someone whose travelled working on a cruise ship his reactions were not what she expected and this made her suspicious "you're pretty chilled about this, do you actually believe me or are you just playing along?" she asked with narrowed eyes.

"You don't seem like the lying type Lindsay Quinn, so yes, I believe you", he said with certainty, Oliver could see the relief in her face and was happy that the frown lines were gone, he slid closer to her on the couch and pulled her into his arms, he felt Lindsay tense then he kissed the top of her head "don't worry love, your secrets safe with me", he felt Lindsay hug him tight and felt panic for the first time since meeting her, oh fuck he thought I'm falling in love with her.

Bubbie floated up to Lindsay who was cuddled in Oliver's arms and said "ok, so maybe this guy is alright, you told him about me and he hasn't run, he's accepted that you have me, and your my best friend too Lindsay". Lindsay sat up from Oliver and turned to Bubbie and reached for his shimmer he shimmered over her and for the first time in a long time Lindsay felt she might finally be able to have a relationship.

Oliver watched Lindsay interact with something that wasn't there, he watched as Lindsay tilted her head to listen, and got startled when Lindsay began speaking to the air, ok this will take a bit of getting used to he thought. Oliver looked at Lindsay and asked "so can you see him as a ghost person or is he just something that shimmer and floats about". Lindsay was surprised to hear the word shimmer come from Oliver, that's always what she had used to describe Bubbie. "so where is he floating now?" asked Oliver. Lindsay smile wide.

Bubbie floated directly in front of Oliver, he seemed to be looking him over, swooping around him and if he was trying to get a 360 degree view. "He's right in front of you, he's floating all around you, trying to get a sense of your essence" Oliver looked around him and thought he could feel a breeze or a small gust of air but it was gone as quick as it came. Lindsay explained that Bubbie can sense a living being's essence, its like their life force, he can feel when they're good or when they're bad or scared or sad, I can only feel it in spirits, Bubbie can sense it it everything" she finished. Bubbie floated beside Lindsay pulsing proudly.

After a few minutes Oliver sat up from the couch and began speaking loudly to the air "it's nice to meet you Bubbie, I look forward to you showing me some pretty cool shit, if you wanna make something float or move about that would be freakin awesome" Lindsay began to laugh and Oliver looked at her "what's so funny"?

"He's dead not deaf, you can talk in a normal voice and he can hear you, he can hear you if you whisper" Lindsay explained. Oliver watched as his jacket floated over to him and landed in his lap his eyes went wide when he saw his shoes float across the room and land at his feet. Lindsay watched Oliver's expression with amusement. Lindsay looked at the clock it was almost midnight, they had been talking for 3 hours, "I think Bubbie is trying to tell you something" Lindsay said with a laugh.

Oliver and Lindsay walked to the door hand in hand, he paused before leaving and gave her a deep tender kiss, they made plans to meet at the Restaurant, Lindsay told him that Sara and Andrew would be there too, there was lots to discuss. Lindsay closed the door and hugged herself with happiness.
