Lindsay pulled into the church fast and slowed down when she saw that the place was quiet, the only car in the lot was Sara's unmarked cruiser, Lindsay looked at Oliver confused. They got out and walked up to the front doors when they heard Sara yell "over here" and they walked towards the back of the church where Andrew's apartment was, when they entered his doorway they both stopped.

His apartment was torn apart, his couch was tipped over, his coffee table was smashed, bits of glass from his lamps lay scattered about the room, the table where Lindsay and Andrew had sat for countless hands of the card game 31 was flipped upside down and the napkins that were always folded neatly in his napkin holder were strewn about the apartment. Andrew was always meticulous about his apartment being clean, now looked like a tornado blew through it.

Lindsay couldn't believe what she was seeing she turned to Sara and asked in a croaked voice "where's Andrew?" Sara avoided looking at Lindsay and Lindsay could feel panic rise up in her "where the fuck is Andrew?" she demanded. Oliver walked up to Lindsay and put his arm around her, Lindsay shrugged it off.

Sara admitted to Lindsay that she didn't know where he was, she got a call from one of the patrols who saw his apartment door open and called it in, when she got there she found it like this "I knew by looking at it that this wasn't the work of a vandal, I figured it was best to keep the uniforms involvement to a minimum" she finished. Lindsay nodded her head and wiped at her tears.

Bubbie was floating around looking at the oily residue that covered everything, he floated into Andrew's bedroom and muttered "fuck me", he had to show Lindsay but knew how much it would hurt, he floated up to the wall behind Andrews bed and groaned he floated through the rest of Andrew's apartment and looked for any clues. He pulsed dully when he saw Lindsay pick up her phone.

Pick up, pick up, pick up Lindsay chanted under her breath, she hung up her phone and immediately tried again, she swore loudly and threw her phone down on the kitchen table that Oliver had picked up. Lindsay walked around the apartment talking to Bubbie "there so much residue, it can't be from all one spirit could it?" Bubbie told her that if the spirit was powerful enough and used enough force then yeah it was possible.

Oliver walked around the apartment and began to straightened things up, when Andrew got back it would be shock enough without finding his furniture tossed about. Oliver knew this was the work of the spirit Madeline, he watched with sadness as Lindsay picked up the phone and tried calling Andrew again. He picked up the magazines looking at each one with little interest when he saw a book in the corner, he picked it up and read the title, First Families of Brewsters Bay and saw another book beside it Folk Lore of Brewsters Bay, he picked both books up and carried them over to Lindsay and Sara.

Sara looked at the books Oliver set on the table, library books she noticed, maybe that's why he wasn't here maybe he was gone to get more books she rationalized to herself, Andrew was always studying books mostly the bible but she knew he liked reading about legends and lore "it looks like Andrew was looking for information on Madeline, I'll bet that's where he is, gone to get more books" she said hopefully to Lindsay. Bubbie listened to Sara talk and felt even worse, he knew Andrew wasn't gone to get more books.

Lindsay flipped through the book First Families of Brewsters Bay and gasped when she saw the old farmhouse by the well except it wasn't old, the white paint was fresh and the front yard was neat and tidy, she noticed that the wrap around porch had an old wooden swing at the far end, Lindsay had always wanted a porch swing, she had fond memories of listening to her father read to her while they swung on the porch at their families cottage. She ran her fingers over the page staring at the picture she swore she could feel a presence and a chill crept up her arm.

Oliver watched Lindsay react to the picture, he watched as her face went slack as if focused on something then watch her frown, as she touched the page he could see her shudder he walked over and removed her hand from the page, she blinked and turned towards Oliver "better?" he asked her. Lindsay moved into him and he put his arm around her, Bubbie watched Lindsay turn to Oliver for comfort and watched Oliver put his arm around her, suddenly Bubbie wanted arms more than ever.

Sara looked at the page Lindsay was focused on and her mouth dropped open "is that the same farmhouse?" she asked. She couldn't believe the white two story majestic farmhouse that looked full of life, with flowers on the porch, it was a black and white photo but Sara could tell it was well  maintained, nothing like the house of horrors they visited weeks ago. She looked at the other book and opened it up to the page that had the corner folded down, she glanced at the story and her stomach dropped when she read the first line Madeline Matthews evil witch or magnificent magician, Sara realized that this was Madeline's tale, her folk lore story.

Lindsay looked over Sara's shoulder and said "that was Madeline's house", Sara's eyes went wide and she turned to Lindsay who just nodded her head and continued "I'm guessing the cannister we found at the house belonged to her too, it all makes sense, why she was at the well, her connection to the house, we need to talk to Andrew, he's the best at figuring these things out" she picked up her phone and dialed again and Sara watched her with hopeful eyes.

Bubbie watched Sara and Lindsay and felt sad, it hurt him to see how desperate they were for Andrew to pick up his phone, he knew he would have to show them his bedroom sooner than later and was dreading it, he floated up to Lindsay and said "I need to show you something in Andrew's bedroom, bring Sara and Oliver". Lindsay relayed the message to Oliver and Sara and they all headed into Andrew's bedroom.

Sara's  scream was the first thing Lindsay remembered about that moment, she felt herself shuddered and felt her legs buckle underneath her, Oliver grabbed Lindsay under her arms and held her up, Lindsay's began to cry, there on his bed lay Andrew's full priest uniform laid out  as if he were wearing them then just vanished, thick black blood covered his clothes and bed, Lindsay felt her legs weaken again when she saw the message on the wall above his bed written in the same thick black blood. THE HANDSOME ONE IS MINE NOW.
