Ghost Girl Book 1

Chapter 20

The kidnapper crouched under the window, another car he thought, this can't be a coincidence, he had never seen this much traffic in all the time he was surveilling the place and now two cars in less than 24 hours, gotta move faster just in case he though to himself.

He went back down to the basement with the video camera and the tripod, looked at his opportunities with repulsion, they had washed their faces and sat huddled together on the cement floor, not perfect but it will have to do.

He walked over to the girls and ordered them to get on the blanket, they obediently shuffled over to the blanket and sat down, he ordered them to sit on either side of the big teddy bear, he walked over and wrapped each of the bear's arms around each child, stood back and looked at his vision, he wasn't satisfied with it.

He re arranged the smaller bears so they tucked around each girl, a little better he thought but still not right, was it the light he wondered, he only had the light from the small basement window to work with and even though it was a sunny day out there was still too much shadow. He paced back and forth debating on whether or not to take the risk and film it upstairs where there was a lot more light.

As he paced back and forth weighing the risks of moving the operation upstairs he thought back to the first time he took an opportunity, a young boy who was playing alone at a park.

He recalled how excited he got when he saw him, there was a request for a young brown haired boy about the age of six or seven and if he could pull this off it would show his new employer that despite his poor performance as an engineer at prestigious car company and his firing for destruction of company property, six cars smashed, that he could be calm and trusted to get the job done.

He chuckled to himself remembering how after he grabbed the boy he was stupid enough not to have to van door open and the boy almost wiggled free, a rookie mistake he never made again. When he drove to the deserted warehouse where he was to meet his employer he couldn't help but enjoy the rush he was feeling, the power he felt knowing that he did this and he was going to make a a lot of money, he looked back at the boy who was gagged with his hands tied together with disgust, weak little shit he thought but smiled at the the thought that he would get toughened up real soon.

He felt nervous as he pulled up to the warehouse, he didn't see any other cars or signs of anyone, he put the car in park and sat there.

Without warning the van door slid open and two men wearing ski masks grabbed the boy and threw a duffle bag in the back of the van, the kidnapper hadn't even turned around and they were gone, he dove on the bag in the back and opened it up he could feel his crotch throb when he saw the stacks of money that were in the bag, from that day on he never doubted what his future career would be and started looking for his next opportunity.

Now on his fifth and final opportunity, he was determined to make the most money he could then disappear, with that thought in mind he decided to move his vision to upstairs, better light better production value.

He cursed at having to move everything upstairs and set up all over again, he grabbed the girls by the arm and shoved them off the blanket and began tossing the small teddy bears into the bags quickly trying to move stuff up the stairs, after he got the tri pod and camera upstairs he went back down for his opportunities.

He lifted both girl off the ground by the back of their necks and they involuntarily cried out "shut you fucking mouths now" he bellowed at them and started shoving them up the stairs.

He sat both girls down with their backs to the fridge the same way they sat when he first arrived with them, he glanced out the window and saw that the car was still there, he started to get even more nervous, he walked to the back of the house and into the bedroom with the nasty mattress and looked out the window towards the old well and the woods beyond.

When he didn't see anything he went back to setting up his vision, he had the blanket spread out and the large teddy bear in position, he grabbed both girls and marched them over to the blanket, "sit" he commanded, both girl sat down on the blanket on either side of the bear, he adjusted the arms of the bear around the girls and set up the rest of the teddy bears around them.

He mounted the video camera on the tripod and looked at the screen on the back of it, he saw that the light was perfect, this worked out better he thought to himself, he looked at the screen again and frowned, no no this won't do he thought.

He walked over to the little girls who were now huddled against the bear "I'm only going to say this once so listen good, when I say smile you goddamn smile, when I say wave you wave, got it" both girls nodded silently.

He went back behind the camera and checked the screen again "smile" he commanded, both girls did they're best to smile but could only manage a weak grin, he looked at them with disgust "I said smile!" he yelled, both girls widened their smiles, "now wave" he demanded, both girls waved in unison, yep this will work perfectly he thought and finalized the preparations then pressed record. He watched the screen as the girls kept smiling and waving, he recorded them doing this for 2 minutes then stopped it.

He watched the video from the beginning and his smiled widened, his vison was complete now he needed to take the video card into town and load it up to the private website he was given after his first opportunity, he ejected the video card and place it in his shirt pocket.
