Since I was punished for being late for my first classes, Alpha Kai somehow got the whole day free academy classes for me.
Before I had even reached my room, everyone was informed on the 'favour' Alpha Kai did for me and was swarming me with questions. One of the main questions was if I knew him and if I had some type of special relationship with him, ridiculous really.
I thought I had truly get away from everyone once I saw that the hallway to my room was empty. It was a bad decision really since I never really pondered why it was empty in the first place. Why had everyone just dispersed for no known reason when they were very eager to get answers?
When I opened my room door, or to move it aside to be accurate, I had planned to lay in bed for the rest of the day but that wasn't possible with a woman I didn't recognise that was seated regally on my bed. My presence snapped her out of her trance with my plain blue walls and her intense brown eyes landed on me with no sign of warmness.
"May I help you?" I ask softly, averting my eyes to the wooden floor after trying to hold her gaze for a mere second.
She got up and her movements were precisely perfect, the way her arms move and her shoulders kept the same posture. She was almost as tall as me but I beat her by probably a centimeter, yet she intimidated me and made me want to shrink and disappear.
"You're new?" she question with a tinge of Russian accent and I nodded immediately.
The thick lump in my throat made it hard for me to answer her and I counted the seconds to divert my attention, hoping to calm myself down. The silence relieved me but the tension in the room thickened and her aura made me feel inferior.
"How do you know Alpha Kai?" she suddenly question, making me jump and lose count.
I shifted my feet, feeling like she was consuming me with her presence. "I don't," I carefully answered after a while.
I felt the shift in temperature as the words left my mouth and felt that my shirt was starting to stick to me. "If your mate wasn't Alpha Malachi, I would've make you disappear with a snap of my fingers," she stated and snapped her fingers while I shivered. "Unfortunately, you are and I can't do that so tell me the truth, my patience is wearing thin and time's ticking."
"I swear," I said, trying to convince her by looking up at her and forced myself to look her in the eye, "I don't know him. I just met him today and we, you can say, talk a bit-"
"So you do know him," she cut me off coldly.
Unable to keep the eye contact any longer, I shifted my attention to my shaking fingers, interlacing them together. "No," I answered desperately. "I just met him in person today and confirmed his existence which is different than knowing him. I don't know what he likes to eat or where the likes to go or-"
This time she didn't cut me off by interrupting my sentence. I think she figured that if she kept interrupting me I'll just talk even more and also in a sarcastic manner. I didn't see it coming as she was a good distance away from me and it happened so fast and sudden even my fast reflexes were helpless against her.
