The door slammed open, shaking me out of my dreams.

I sat up, feeling disorientated, and blinked my eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness. I didn't realise I had fallen asleep with Alpha Malachi at my side. Instinctively, I turned my head to where Alpha Malachi had been sleeping and found that he wasn't there anymore.

Wow. I'm so surprised.

"-in your room. Are you even listening?!" someone yelled, snapping out of my daydream of Alpha Malachi.

"Huh?" I replied like a stupid dazed person. "What about my room?"

I shrink when I recognise his voice, and I looked up to see his face. No longer was the once caring mate that existed for the past week; present was the controlling, obsessive and demanding mate who showed no affection for me at all. As if I was just an object used to please his wolf and to strengthen him.

He continued to glare at me. "I see you have gotten your sight and memories back," he sneered, obviously not pleased that I have. "That isn't why I'm here. I found something in your room, something forbidden."

"I don't know what you're talking about," I answered carefully, eying him up and down.

His left eye twitched in annoyance. "I'm sure this would refresh your memory," he said, opening the door for a small teenage boy to come in.

He brought with him a golden tray and he lowered his head as he passed it to Alpha Malachi. I couldn't see what was on the tray because it was wrap in a brown cloth and Alpha Malachi had purposely blocked my view by standing in front of the boy.

"I know you're the one who triggered the false alarm," a familiar stingy voice said. She walked into the room, revealing her accusing look and looked ever so professional. "You also faked your escape and made it seem like a rebel had had kidnapped you."

My eyes widen and I frantically look at Alpha Malachi, waiting for him to say something. He didn't say anything and refused to look at me. That alone made me slam back into reality, snapping me out of the dream-like state I was in for the past week.

"I. Didn't. Trigger. The. Alarm," I said, carefully pronouncing the words. "I was with Alpha Malachi when the alarm was sounded."

She smirked at me and enjoyed that I was confused. "Is that so, Alpha Malachi?"

My heart dropped and I felt a sharp pain as he muttered, "No."

"You were in the bathroom and it was the alarm in the bathroom that was sounded. You pretended to pass out in the bathroom to make it look like you're innocent and lied to Alpha Malachi when he asked if you had go your memories back," she went on, listing the things I was being accused of.

I didn't pay much attention to her as I focused solely on the person who is supposedly made for me, my other half. The one is suppose to protect me from getting hurt and the one who is to love everything about me.

Maybe he had lied when he said I was a 100% compatible with him. All he has done to me is the exact opposite of what a mate would do. Maybe he had set everything up, starting from the beginning, to get revenge on my parents. Maybe I was cursed to have a mate who would hurt and hate me.

"We wouldn't be accusing you and would've fell for your ploys if we hadn't find this in your room when we were searching it to make sure that there wasn't anything harmful," she said, chuckling to herself. "Take a look at this and tell the truth on where you got it."
