"What does that mean?" I asked, still maintaining my distance from the door.

Her name caused another headache to strike and I was a bit wary of her. She must be the one who triggered the alarm because she knows that I'm in the bathroom. I don't know where I am so to figure out her intentions is going to be trickery-dickery.

"We don't have much time before they figure out the alarm is fake," she muttered, wanting me to know that fact. "Excalibur, I know you don't trust me now. I know your mother's a rebel."

I froze. I don't remember telling anybody about that. No one knew, as far as I know. I had my suspicions when my mother started disappearing at random nights and when we had strangers in our house, most of them bloody and battered up.

"How do you know that?" I questioned, trembling slightly.

She didn't sound like a scary person but I couldn't help but fear her. Fear for what she knows. If she revealed to anyone that my mother's one of them, I might consider her dead. They would take her soul out and beat her until she gave them information.

"You don't have to be afraid of me," she says, her tone laced with hurt that she's trying to hide. "I'm going to help you regain your sight."

That got me to open the door even though he had told me not to. It just shows how desperate I am to be able to see again. Even if there's a possibility that I might be killed for it. Well, at least I'm not smart; I don't have to face the humiliation of making a stupid decision.

She came in and quickly locked the door again. I just played with my fingers, contemplating if I did the right thing. "So," I started off, "you can help me see again?"

If she wasn't looking at me earlier, I wouldn't know. "Yes," she answers quickly, her voice showing any sign that she's lying. "All you have to do is remember."

My mouth opened slightly. "Remember?" I asked unbelieving. "I do remember. I don't have any memory lost."

She snickered and muttered, "Of course he wouldn't tell her." If I didn't happen to have my senses, the ones working at least, to be advanced, I wouldn't have heard what she had said. She didn't want me to know that for a reason. Even though I'm not that smart, it wasn't difficult to guess who she was referring to.

It was him alright. I finally found out what he has been hiding from me but why would he do that?

"Why you lost your memory and sight will make sense once you remember again," she tells me. "Now, all you need to know is that you have a bit of amnesia but it isn't serious. Remembering what happened that night and before that-it will help you see again."

"Okay?" I say confused. "So, I have to remember?"

"Yes," she replies without sounding annoyed at all. "Don't push away the headaches or dismiss the sense of deja-vu. The headaches are caused because you're trying to remember a traumatic event which your mind is trying to protect you from and the sense of deja-vu is caused because it did happen before."
