"And when he smiles, I find a reason to live a little more."

LUCY GASPED AS COLD SWEAT ran down her forehead, feet crunching against freshly cut grass. She rushed forwards as if her life depended on it; perhaps it did, after all, she could only run so much when attempting to escape the two terrifying creatures chasing after her.

They weren't run of the mill creatures, no, they were remarkably fast and so tiny that it was hard to avoid their bony limbs.

She was no match for them as her foot smacked into a branch, causing her to dramatically lose her balance. The two creatures took advantage of the momentary disorientation and tackled her into the ground, erupting in horrifying giggles.

She winced as she hit the dirt hard, tumbling down a small hill with her two little assaulters.

"You betrayed me!" She cried theatrically as she pulled herself onto my feet.

She shook out her leg, the little tumble she'd experienced only giving her ankle a slight ache. Her lips twitched as she struggled not to show a content expression.

"No I didn't!" The little demon exclaimed vehemently as he tackled her to the ground again.

The two of them hit the ground with a thud and Lucy let her lips flip upwards into a mischievous grin, leaning forward and placing a hand on her stomach.

"Yes you did, and now I'll betray you!" Lucy exclaimed, tickling her.

"Ah! Coopsy help!" Lila cried as she rolled around in the grass, laughing with tears as Lucy relentlessly tickled her.

Lucy heard Cooper's loud feet behind her and released a fake gasp of surprise as he tackled her to the ground. She rolled away from Lila who jumped to her feet, giggling as she pointed an amused finger at her.

"Oh no! I'm dying!" She gasped, feigning hurt as she placed a hand on her forehead dramatically.

Cooper and Lila both erupted in a boatload of giggles and Lucy sat up, grinning with amusement as the two kids rolled around in the grass.

Four months had passed since Clint had cautiously put an immense amount of trust in both her and James. There life are the Barton's resident was far different than the one they'd experienced at the Avenger's tower. Away from technology and focused more on learning the gentle facets they did, in fact, possess, the Barton family had made both her life and James's life remarkably brighter.
