"Peace is the only battle worth waging."

Washington D.C, America
September, 2015

YELLOW CAUTION TAPE WAS METICULOUSLY crossed over Lucy's destination. The old abandoned bank on the corner street had shattered glass and miles of spider webs. It was odd, seeing the once polished building look completely at a loss. There were no janitors wandering the halls, no agents milling about with their trays of coffee and their choice of breakfast items.

So yes, there was something particularly odd and unfamiliar about Pierce's bank vault.

She killed the engine of the vehicle, her fingertips grazing against the flat screen above the digital radio. A panel immediately lifted and Lucy chose one of the metallic colors followed by a new choice of license plate.

She exited, pocketing her keys and giving the car a once over. It was now sporting an off-white silver, the letters and numbers on the license plate completely different. She knocked on the side of the metal to make sure the hologram had set, before stepping out of the hidden garage.

The sound of her car door swinging shut echoed in the vast area, and Lucy wondered how long the sparse amount of vehicles had collected dust over the last year. It had been a year, she thought with a little sense of pride, that they'd been free.

That was something, right?

She locked the car and the beep resounded softly before she started towards the far wall. She pressed her hand against the cement, searching for a small crack. Once she did she pushed a small compartment open. It revealed a number pad and she pushed in a series of digits the Commander had always imputed. There was a sound of several clicks before a piece of the wall released, pushing forwards slightly. She grasped the edge of the cement, before tugging it open.

The makeshift door shifted and she stepped inside before pulling it shut.

She exhaled softly as the door sealed shut. Her eyes flicked around the gray halls, a few rooms on either side of the room. It led to the main bank vault, yellow tinted bars glinting against the ceiling light. There was a figure in a baseball cap standing on the other side of the open bars, and Lucy's lips twitched upwards at the sight.

She stepped past the lab and the conditioning room, resisting the urges to shudder. She passed Pierce's office, though the door was open, and padded towards the dark haired figure. She entered the cell holding the Chair before wrapping her arms around his waist. She sighed as she nuzzled into the crook of his neck, the movement familiar.
