"Sometimes we refuse how bad something is until it completely destroys us."

Washington D.C, America
November, 2016

NATASHA ROLLED DOWN HER CAR window, pushing the horn as she gazed at them with a raised eyebrow. Lucy hadn't realized the redhead had disappeared halfway through the trial—either from discomfort or boredom. She winked at her, and Lucy's lips twitched upwards. After the scuffle they had in the Red Room, Lucy was glad that she seemed to be doing well; emotionally and physically.

"The rides for Lucy and Yasha only." She announced when Tony tried to open the door.

She gave him a look, before pointing in the direction of the parking lot. He sighed, waving a hand at everyone else and enthusiastically motioning them to their vehicles. Lucy gave Natasha a thankful look as James slipped into the backseat of the car, unnervingly quiet. He ran a hand through Alpine's fur, mindlessly letting his fingers move.

After he'd punched Henry in the face he hadn't said anything else.

Henry, who didn't budge from his spot on the sidewalk.

Steve frowned at him.

Tony waved Steve over as Brock and Jack started towards the van they'd arrived in. Sam looked at Steve with a raised eyebrow, and he relented, stepping over towards him. Matt and Foggy had already left the moment everything had quieted down.

Lucy watched them leave, before turning her attention back to Henry.

Klause looked at him, then Lucy, then back to him, as if he was at a complete loss. The taller man exhaled, running a hand through his hair. He grumbled to himself, before grabbing Klause's forearm.

"Where did you park?" He asked.

Klause swallowed nervously, pointing towards the general direction of the spot he'd left the van at.

"No, the car we came here with." Henry scowled. "The Rolls-Royce."

Klause silently pointed in another direction. Henry gave him a nod, leaning forwards and grabbing Klause's suit jacket, unbuttoning it before taking out the keys. Lucy shifted uncomfortably on her feet at how close he'd gotten to him. Klause remained completely still, as if he were a statue.

Henry turned on his heel and walked away from them.

Klause took a halted step forwards, his lips pursed. It would be suicide to follow him, but where else was he supposed to go? He took another step.
