"Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them."Wakanda, Africa
April, 2016WAKANDA WAS LIKE HEAVEN on Earth. Lucy had never seen such a place filled with so many serene civilians, along with formidable but respectful and morally kind warriors. It was an interesting thing to experience, especially since she was more familiar with the chaos of other societies. As they walked through the halls of what must've been Wakanda's palace, Lucy found herself awed by the female warriors that greeted them.
Alpine walked besides James, her head held high as her tail swayed side to side. He felt comforted by the feeling of her body moving alongside him. They were in an unfamiliar place, and though he found himself respecting the others around him, he was uncertain of why they were here. He was not keen on being used again, but to assume that T'Challa was as low as HYDRA agents was rude. So he kept his thoughts to himself and hoped that the man was as kind-hearted as he seemed to be.
Steve kept his head forward, not having the ability to keep a smile on his face. The exhaustion flickering between his eyes was far stronger now, even though he'd taken a nap on the quinjet. It was not a bodily tiredness that encapsulated him–it was a mental one. With all the controversy over the Sokovia Accords, Peggy's passing, and receiving the label of criminal, he was questioning the prospect of retirement. It was something he never thought upon, but the small part of him that wasn't all selflessness and heroism had grown tired.
Ramonda split away from her son, taking one of the female warriors with her. T'Challa didn't stop in his strides, moving alongside his sister as they continued down another hall. He paused in front of a glass door, holding the door open as Shuri stepped inside. He moved to the side and Lucy followed behind her, caution in her gaze as she padded forwards.
James entered alongside her, standing close enough to have their hands brushing against each other. Steve pursed his lips at the sight of medical equipment, which was also accompanied by a number of computers and other machinery that felt way too futuristic to be real. But well, who was he kidding, this was Wakanda.
"If you could sit here," Shuri waved a hand at the line of hospital beds.
Lucy knew that Steve was the one in dire need of medical care. James had some bruises and a cut along his cheek, but Steve had caught more of the brunt attacks from the others, and he was undoubtedly more injured. Blood had stained against his temple at one point, a few nicks adorning his face.
