Mando/Din Djarin x GN Reader oneshot

Book of Boba spoilers - episode five and six.

You're sick and tired of waiting for him, all you ever did do was wait for him. Wait for him to come home, wait for him to contact you, wait for him to fly the ship, wait for him to tell you he's okay. You hated waiting for him, and you finally reached the point of no return.

Why should you be waiting for him? He had been gone for hours now, all alone and on a mission to find the child; his kid. Well at this point it was easier to say your kid, after all, you became permanent crew when the little guy joined.

You knew you should've gone with him, blast him for getting that ship and blast Peli for persuading him. She never like the idea of you going off into battle, a pretty face like yours shouldn't see war was what she said on that first meeting. Damn her for being such a good ally.

But you needed to see that little green bean of a creature, just the one time, even if it only lasted for just a moment. You hadn't let the feeling of jealousy go when you saw the Jedi take him, though you knew he would be safe. Where was possibly safer than the arms of a Jedi?

But you still couldn't hide the disappointment within you, not fighting to let him stay with your little family just a moment longer. You knew why Din was doing this, he had to see Grogu again. That little womp rat had wormed his way into both your hearts.

So here you sat, back on the dirt planet of Tatooine. A lot of sand, you hated sand; it was course and got everywhere. Peli was off doing god knows what, her yelling distant but easy enough to make some sense of.

You looked up towards the blue sky, so simple and boring just like the rest of this planet, you had no idea why Boba wanted to rule such a place. The people were nice enough, they had shown you and the Mandalorian enough respect on the few visits here, but you wouldn't say this is the type of planet to settle down on.

He was definitely taking too long, he said he'd be quick and in a supped up ship like that, he should've been there and back within an hour. What if something happened to him? What if something had happened to Grogu? You'd never be able to live with yourself.

"Would'ya quit ya worrying, you're makin' me all tense." Peli groaned, a dirty rag in her hands. She came to sit next to you on a lone crate, dusting her hands before dropping the rag to the floor, "He'll be back in no time, if I know Mando, he'll be zipping past some planets or somethin'. Gettin' a good feel of the engine."

"I don't know, Peli. He's been gone for an awfully long time, he promised he would only see the child. What if something bad-"

"There ya go again! Listen, (Y/N), nothing bad is gonna happen to him. He's safer than a droid in a glass shop."

You turned to her with a brow raised, sometimes you could never figure Peli out, you marked it down to her years spent with droids as her main source of companionship. Turning back to the empty lot, you huffed another sigh, you're sick of waiting.

"Peli?" she hummed beside you, picking at the dirt in her nails, "You got any more ships?"

------

"You. I didn't expect to see you here." Mando raised from the bench the droids had made him, his blaster raised to the figure amongst the bamboo shoots. Ashoka stepped forward, a daring smile on her lips "I'm an old friend of the family."

Mando sat up fully now, tucking his blaster away, "I thought you said you weren't going to train Grogu?" he didn't look back at her, instead, he focused on the droids piling rocks on top of the hill. Ashoka followed his gaze, moving to join him by the bench, "I'm not, Master Luke is."
