Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream, dream
You're eyes flew open, your back hunched over and your breathing heavy. You continued to pant as you regained your sense of awareness, feeling your chest tighten with every deep inhale.
America was by you in a second, a calming hand placed onto your shoulder and soothing words like "It's ok" and "You're ok now."
Your gaze moved from her face to the walls around you, the building's structure shaking along with the ground. That's right, you were in Kamar-Taj.
Wong slammed the doors to the room's entrance shut, using some mystical spell to keep them bound together; but who knows how long it would last against Wanda.
Ah, Wanda...You had almost forgotten about that, almost.
You were once happy by her side, but after the whole ordeal with Westview you couldn't stay with her anymore. Maybe you let S.W.O.R.D.S' words get to you, "She's unstable, she needs to pay for her crimes."
But you couldn't just lock her up, besides it had been done already; and look where that led. Wanda needed to own up to her crimes at Westview, but there was no way you could see her in pain; you loved her with all your heart.
When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Snapped out of your thoughts by Strange appearing in the room, you dwelled on the state of the outside world. If Wanda was truly set on taking America for herself, then surely nothing would stop her.
Maybe that's why Stephen asked you to join him, help protect the kid? Maybe you were the one thing that stood between America being alive and Wanda killing her?
But doubt began to build up in you once more, Wanda wouldn't even think about you if it came down to grabbing America. All she cared about was travelling the multiverse and forcing her children to love her.
Of course, you loved Billy and Tommy like they were your own, but this wasn't them. They may act the same and look the same, but deep down you knew it wasn't the brothers you helped raise. Perhaps Wanda knew this too but was blind-sighted by grief.
Dream, dream, dream, dream
"That trap won't hold her forever, we have to find a way out of here." Wong paced around the room, his face in a permanent grimace. Strange agreed with him, turning to you with a brow quirked, "There must be something you know (L/N)? Anything? Weaknesses? Game plans?"
"I already told you this, Strange. Me and Wanda...we've been apart for a while, I-I knew she wasn't ok but I never thought it was this bad." you rubbed your arm, looking down to the ground.
When I feel blue in the night
And I need you to hold me tight
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Dream
You stared at your own reflection, watching as the slight ripples in the water distorted your face. But you leapt back when your eyes shone red, shrieking, you kicked at the puddle trying to vanish the creature.
America looked at you, taking in your weakened stance, "What is it?" she questioned, tilting her head. You pointed to the puddle, "I saw eyes, red, red, eyes!"
