Okay so I've had this idea for a fic before but never got around to writing it, and I'm super obsessed with this song and the movie it came from; it's one of my fav movies ever made. It's a little long but probably worth it, if you know the movie I'm referencing leave a comment below! Enjoy!

Bad Batch Tech x Female reader

"Ugh, why can't I go with you guys? I'm part of the team too?" Omega begged, watching with pouty eyes as Wrecker loaded the last set of ammunition onto the ship. Hunter watched his every move, partly making sure he didn't blow the ship up, the other part was being unable to look Omega in the eyes.

"Look, kid, I told you this isn't a normal mission. We're infiltrating a highly secured bar, getting information about the Empire's new warlord and trying to not die in the process. I think with all the action you've seen in the last few days it would be better if you remained here with Cid."

Omega crossed her arms over her chest, a deep frown replacing the pout, "You let (Y/N) go alone, why can't I go with you?" Hunter rolled his eyes but sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, he calmed his anger before he spoke. "(Y/N) was sent a week prior to get intel at the bar this warlord loiters around, she's getting information that will provide valuable to what's left of the Republic."

"Or the highest bidder," Omega huffed out. "Look, Omega, you're staying here and that's final. Cid's going to look out for you, just don't draw any attention to yourself, got it?" Hunter crouched down to be level with her, a reassuring hand on her shoulder, a warm smile gracing his lips. Omega couldn't stay mad at him, no matter how hard she tried, with a defeated sigh she nodded and turned to leave to find Cid.

Hunter walked up the Havoc's ramp, minding Echo as he approached, "Ah, give it time Hunter, she'll understand." Hunter continued to scope Omega's form as she slowly disappeared back into the bar, a grunt emitting from his mouth. Finally, when all the passengers on the Havoc sat down, Tech launched the ship into space, eventually going into Hyper.

The batch's genius sat with shaky knees, eyes scowering the blue streams as they jetted by. Hunter eventually joined him in the cockpit, weary of the stress his younger brother was under. It didn't take a mastermind to figure out that you and Tech shared similar feelings for each other, especially with the longing looks and reddening cheeks. And with the way this mission was set up, it was easy to tell why Tech was suddenly so jittery.

"Tech," Hunter announced as he entered the small room, a worried but hopeful look on his face. Tech acknowledged his presence but didn't say anything, instead consumed with the thoughts of you, was your mission going okay? Were you hurt? Dead, even?

"She's alright," Hunter stated, hand braced on the back of Tech's chair in an attempt to unnerve him. But Tech wasn't one to be easily relaxed, his mind a constant worrier, the thoughts of you hurt, calling out to him for help daunting his mind. "How can you say something that is unproven, we don't know if she's alright. We don't know anything." he was frustrated, he had every right to be.

You were sent off to go undercover as a showgirl in a bar that was rumoured to be the scums place of leisure. When Cid briefed the mission, there was no doubt in your mind that you could do it, the guys...not so much.

"Maybe we should send me, I've got a much prettier singin' voice." Wrecker laughed, nudging his arm against your back. You pouted away, a foul scowl on your face as the batch circled you, laughing their heads off. "I don't get it, why don't you think I can sing?" you questioned, slowly getting more and more enraged as the laughter crept on. You didn't even get a reply back and if you did you wouldn't have known, their words too hard to hear over their obnoxious chuckles.
