Isabella eats cereal for breakfast while she was still in her pink nightgown. She heard Steven watching a movie upstairs and decided to listen.
"Everyone's getting married but me!"
Isabella frowns to herself as she starts to glow pink. She calms down for a moment, deciding to look through pictures on her phone to keep her calm. She then comes across a picture of her, Lars, and Sadie back when the two worked at the Big Donut. Her eyes widen as her body glows pink and swells up a hug amount, ripping her nightgown a bit and making her shout in fright.
"Sis?!" Steven rushes down the stairs, "Are you okay?!"
"I'm fine." she sits down onto the couch, breathing heavily.
"What happened to your clothes?" Steven takes his phone out, "Let me call Lars!"
"No! Don't!" Isabella told him, swelling up again before going back to normal, making the teen boy shriek, "I don't want him to hear that my situation is getting worse!"
Connie's ringtone is suddenly heard, Steven answering it hesitantly, "Connie, now's not the time."
"Steven! I've been worried about you." Connie then notices Isabella in the background, "Is your sister glowing?"
"Um...is she?" Steven asks before gasping when the woman swelled up again.
"Ah! What's happening to her face?!"
Isabella rushes off, mumbling, "Allergic reaction!" she heads into the bathroom.
"Uhh..."
Steven shakes his head, "It's not an allergic reaction. Her body just started to randomly grow, but I don't think it's hurting her or anything."
"How long has it been happening?"
"Let me check." Steven knocks on the door, "Sis, did you just start swelling this morning?"
"Yes!" Isabella calls back before her face swells up some more.
"What do the Gems think?" Connie asks.
"I can't reach them. They're doing a school field-trip out in the wilderness." Steven explains.
"She really doesn't look well, maybe she should see a doctor. My mom could see her at the hospital!"
"I don't want to waste anyone's time!" Isabella shouts from the bathroom.
"Steven, she needs to see a medical professional."
"I know..."
...
Isabella sits on top of an examination table with her everyday clothes on, except for her jacket. Steven and Connie stood next to her in reassurance.
Priyanka talks to them, "You're lucky I had a cancellation today, normally I'm booked up weeks in advance."
"Think you'll be able to help her? Even if this is some sort of Gem issue?" Connie asks.
"Gem issue or not, you have a human body. Which means we can run tests. At the very least, we can determine if you're suffering from a non-Gem condition."
"See, Sis, you'll be fine. Connie and I will go wait outside." Steven reassures her as he and Connie walk out the door, "I'm sure it'll all be fine!"
Isabella watches out the window as Steven and Connie both get on their phones to call someone.
"Let's start with your symptoms." Priyanka puts a thermometer in Isabella's ear, making her tense up slightly, "Hm. Mild fever." she walks away to grab a stethoscope, coming back to see the woman glowing pink, "Glowing pink color to skin." she checks her heartbeat before listening to her gem, hearing a glowing sound coming from it, "Hmm." she grabs a blood pressure machine and puts it around Isabella's arm. As she takes her blood pressure, Isabella's arm swells up and rips the machine. Priyanka falls to the ground in shock as Isabella returns to her normal color again. Priyanka takes notes as she stands up, "Blood pressure is...high! Well, these readings are certainly...interesting. If you don't mind me asking, who's your GP?"
