Greg, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl watched in immerse worry from inside the house.
"We'll be fine! We'll be right back. We're just gonna walk Connie out." Isabella reassures them as she and her brother go down the stairs.
"Don't worry! We're not going back into space or anything." Steven chuckles nervously.
"Too soon bro." Isabella shook her head.
"They're never gonna let us out of their sight again." Steven says.
"Why are you looking at us like that, Lion?" Isabella asks as Lion was staring at her and her brother.
"Connie?" Steven watched as Connie walked off ahead. He, his sister, and Lion run up to catch up with her, "Connie! I know you gotta get home and get some sleep, but once you're all rested up, I can't wait to tell you about everything! Being on Homeworld was crazy! After we turned ourselves in, they put us on trial! And Lars was there, we got chased by killer robots. Heh, what a wild ride that was! And uh...I'm really happy to see you again." he starts to grow concerned with Connie's silence as they all stopped walking, "Umm...A-Are you happy to see me, too?"
"Of course I'm happy to see you, Steven."
Isabella narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms, "So, what's the big deal?"
Lion walks up to Connie's side as the girl spoke, "How could you just give yourself up like that?"
"Excuse me?" Isabella got a little angry.
"Well, first, we said we were my dad and my sister, and then we said we were our mom." Steven says.
Connie scoffs, "No. I mean, you just gave up."
Isabella narrowed her eyes once more, "We had to. It was a last minute decision. It's not some kind of strategy we pulled out of our hats. They were taking my friends away and Steven's."
"They were gonna take you!" Steven adds.
Connie ignored Isabella's statement and continued talking to Steven, "But what about our training? Stevonnie, Jam buds. I believed in us! We could have done it together!"
"The heck you couldn't!" Isabella groaned in annoyance, pointing at her before pointing at herself, "This isn't about you! It's about Steven and me!"
"Sis, calm down." Steven put his hand on her shoulder, "This is different. This whole thing was our fault, but Belle knew that we could fix it all if we turned ourselves in. And look! No one got hurt. Well, except for Lars, but she saved him, too."
"But...I'm hurt." Connie gestures to herself.
Isabella started to raise her voice a little, "You're hurt?" she laughs bitterly, "Lars died right in front of me. And you have the decency to tell me that you're hurt?"
"No, you're not hurt, Connie. You're safe. You're here. I'm here. Belle's here. We're safe. Everything's fine." Steven smiles.
Connie turns away, "...It's not, though." she gets onto Lion and he approaches the sea.
Isabella starts to growl a bit in anger, her teenage angst hitting her.
"You know, it was a tough decision for my sister to make, but it had to be done." Steven defends her from Connie.
