Greg places two bowls of dessert on the table, "Here you go, kiddos. Dinner is served. Ice-cream a la pie!"
Isabella laughs softly, "Thanks, Dad."
"Sis, are you feeling any better? I think the swelling and glowing finally went down." Steven points out in concern.
"You know, that pie won't eat itself." Greg adds, noticing his daughter wasn't eating.
"Sorry, I'm just thinking about stuff."
"What kind of stuff?" Steven asks.
"The two of us spent so long trying to figure out whether or not we were Mom. Now that I actually know I'm me and you're you, it's like I have no idea who that is. I just wish I knew what to do with myself."
"Well, I can relate to that." Greg told her.
"Really?"
"When I was your age, I didn't know who I was, or what I wanted to do."
"You didn't always wanna be a rock-star?" Steven asks.
"No way. I didn't get my hands on good music until I was your age. Before I had the van I had no idea what was out there. But everything changed when I hit the road. I mean, sure, you've seen other planets but what about West Keystone? Or Charm City? I had some of my most formative moments eating rest-stop sandwiches outside Delmarva house, and watching the trucks go by."
"Huh." Isabella raises an eyebrow.
"Maybe you need a change of scenery. You're never gonna find yourself if you don't start looking."
"Yeah, yeah!" Steven exclaims.
"Let's go. Right now!" Greg stands up.
"Really?"
"The road is calling! Can't you hear it?" Greg runs out the door, the two following them while carrying their bowls of ice-cream.
"Yeah, I think I can!"
...
The trio drive out of Beach City and stop at a Pepe's Burger joint and a Uaua gas station, where they try on a pair of wacky sunglasses and laugh at each other. As they continued driving, they sang along to "Dear Old Dad".
...
Greg drives his children through a neighborhood, "About two blocks that way, that's where I played my first gig."
"Really?" Isabella asks.
"I wasn't even Mr. Universe yet. I was just a kid with a guitar, sneaking out past the warden on a Saturday night."
"Wait, so...how did you become Mr. Universe?" Steven asks.
Greg smiles, "You know what? I can show you." he parks the van outside of one of the houses and steps out, "Good, no one's home."
"Wait, what? Whose house is that? Dad!" Isabella calls, her father ignoring her as he approaches the house and jumps over the white picket fence and lands on the other side with a hard thud.
The siblings get out and rush over, peeking over the fence.
"Dad?" Steven calls this time.
Greg climbs the large tree standing in the yard and opens up a window, climbing in, "This used to be a lot easier."
"Dad, you're breaking and entering!" Isabella exclaims.
"I just gotta grab one thing." Greg told her as the siblings climbed through the window as well.
"Dad, you're rich! You don't have to steal." Steven says, "C'mon, let's get out of here."
"Just a sec."
