Chapter 13
The Dinner

I WOKE UP with a heavy head. Kinulang ata ako sa tulog kaya medyo masakit ang ulo ko. Tumihaya ako sa kama ko at tumingin sa kisame. I suddenly remembered the arrange marriage sinabi ni mom and dad dati. This is ridiculus! It's already 2020 and yet may pa arrange mariage pa silang nalalaman. Can't they just let me live by my own and let me decide on my own? I sighed. I should stop thinking about this. Sumasakit lang ang ulo ko lalo.

I stand up and walk towards the bathroom. I need to freshen up to start my day. Thanks God that it's week end. I took a bathe and wear my dress. Mom told me that we'll be having a formal dinner later. What could be happening later? I'm curious though.

I am blow drying my hair while thinking if I will put on make up or not. Nakakatamad. I looked at my self at the mirror and noticed a black something at my under eye. Damn, is that an eyebag? I look closely and I am horrified as I confirmed that there is really dark circles under my eyes. I grunted. Now, I need to put on make up. I don't want to look like a fucking potato in the formal dinner.

After blow drying my hair, I applied light make up. I put make hair into a messy bun and sprayed perfume all over my body.

Time check 7:30 p.m

I decided to go down. As I was walking down the stairs, I can hear a group of people talking and having a conversation. I halted and took a deep breath. Why am I nervous?

I continued walking until I reached the dining area. Everyone became silent as I entered. My mom looked at me and smiled.

"Hi darling! Come here, take a seat" she said, smiling.

Something's odd.

I smiled back and sat in the chair beside mom. My brother is sitting beside me, right side to be exact. Beside him is his girlfriend, Agatha. I greeted kuya and his girlfriend.

Ngumiti rin ako sa mga bisitang nasa harap ko. They're talking about business. The woman who's in her 40's smiled at me.

"You became such a beautiful lady, Princess" she said.

"Thank you" I said and smiled back. "You're also pretty, ma'am" I replied.

"Aww. Thank you, dear." she said. She looks happy about the compliment.

"Shall we eat?" dad said. Everyone nodded.

My parents and the visitors is talking about the business. Nagsasalita lang ako kapag tinatanong nila ako. Thankfully, I know how our businesses works kaya nasasagot ko ang mga tanong nila.

They also ask kung ano ang ginagawa ko ngayon and I said that I am currently managing the university. They seemed shocked and amazed at the same time because I am running the university at this young age.

"Well, I am impressed. Talagang bagay nga kayo ng anak ko." sabi ng ginang at muli na namang ngumiti.

Para akong napako sa inuupuan ko. Is this the time na makikita ko na siya? Damn! Ngumiti nalang ako para matago ang pagkagulat.

"Ofcourse! Bagay talaga sila ng unica hija ko." sabi naman ni mom at mahinang tumawa.

Napatingin kami lahat sa bagong pasok na lalaki.

"Sorry I'm late."

Fuck. He's my fiancé?
