It started to feel like routine. Waiting until Seojun was done his rounds around the camp before leaving the cabin and slipping into Byounggon's tent.
Jinyoung quickly took a seat next to Seunghun, who he seemed to be the most comfortable with. I looked at him, awaiting what he had left to say.
"Okay, um, I have something else to tell you guys."
Jinyoung twiddled his thumbs, looking down. He didn't seem as shaken up as before, but he was still off. "Well, um, this is going to sound interesting, but I'm sort of a murderer. An assassin."
"An... assassin?" Hyunsuk's voice cracked a bit, but it looked as though he was piecing things together in his mind. "Are you saying that... you want to kill Seojun? For one offense?"
Jinyoung and Seunghun shared a look, as though there was another secret between them. Jinyoung looked like he was asking a question, but turned back to the rest of us. "Well... look. If anyone goes that far without punishment, it's well deserved. Nobody knows what he's doing out here, and I doubt they'd be bold enough to tell anyone like I did. How many kids have been touched that way?"
"Well..." Byounggon trailed off. "What are you trying to say?"
"Besides wanting to kill Seojun, of course," I added.
Jinyoung sighed. "I... look, it's not like I can't do it myself, but I want your guys' help."
He looked around, his eyes speaking for him. He was looking for someone who wouldn't. And who were we to challenge him?
"Okay then. I'll actually execute the entire thing, so I just need you guys to help me."
"And how should we do that?" Byounggon asked.
Jinyoung opened his mouth, but closed it again. "Look, I've still got to work out a few more things. I'll... I'll talk to you guys whenever I figure it out. But he will suffer for what he's done."
With that, he stood up and left the tent, already headed back to the cabin. Hyunsuk and I scrambled up behind him, ready to see how things would play out.
I trusted him. And there was no way that we wouldn't help him.
