I took my time in the Chrysanthemum cabin, careful with each item that I stowed away. I didn't want our other two roommates to get any more suspicious than they already were of us.
Seunghun entered the cabin. "Oh, how will we pack up Byounggon's tent? I don't think we should leave something like that behind if we're going to be on the run."
"I think he'll get Yonghee and Hyunsuk to help him take it down." I draped a shirt on mybed. "I doubt Seojun will care about any other sounds he hears outside when he has both of us in his tent."
Seunghun nodded, and Byounggon, Yonghee, and Hyunsuk entered just after. Byounggon glanced around nervously, cautiously closing the door before he unveiled a knife. How perfect. "Here."
"Thanks." I took it from him, pushing it into my bag. I covered it with a few of my clothes as well. "I don't know if I should wash the knife before or after we meet with Jaeseok."
"After." Seunghun said definitively. "We have to flee out of here as quickly as possible."
Right. Logical.
We stepped out of the cabin together. We only had a few more activities before the day was over, so as long as we stuck together, things would hopefully blow over fine. I could see Soobin and his posse eyeing us suspiciously. What, standing in a menacing circle was also a bad look.
We only split when we were building the campfire, but that was apparently enough time for one of Soobin's friends– Taehyun, I thought, the one with the ashy grey hair– to corner me.
"So." Taehyun meandered around a tree. "What's going on with you and your little troupe?"
"Why does it matter?" I asked. "I could ask you the same."
"How nosy."
"How ironic."
Taehyun bit his tongue at that, knocking out a few pieces of wood from my hands so that he could take it for himself. "Watch it," he said to me (as if he wasn't a year younger), pointing directly between my eyes. "Whatever you're up to, watch your step."
I could only scoff as I watched him walk away. If only he knew the half of it.
