CIX still hadn't found their way to a motel.
Their enthusiasm for moving was lost when Seunghun had been proven wrong, with no motel waiting for them outside the city. They ventured back into their small little alleyway, left with each other and nothing else.
Hyunsuk sighed, kicking a can against the wall opposite him. "I don't like this."
"We don't get much of a choice," Yonghee grumbled back. "Unless you want to make yourself noticed in the middle of the city. No way we're doing that."
Jinyoung huffed. He'd never been in a case like this. Normally, after his job was done, he'd be able to completely move on or only have to lay low in Jaesoek's for a while, but that usually just meant dyeing his hair a new colour and moving on with his life. Actually being on the run was completely unheard of for him. He wanted nothing to go back home to Jaeseok and curl up into his bed, and no doubt the others wanted the same.
The others. That was the one thing that felt comforting for Jinyoung. He wasn't out here alone. He had four other people with him, four people that he had managed to call friends in the small amount of time they'd known each other.
And maybe that was enough.
