I huffed. This was our second last day. Our second last day until we'd be gone from the camp.
At this point in time, it was break. Most of the campers were spending their time outside in the sun, but I was gathering his things a bit. Not enough for it to be noticeable, but enough that it just looked like regular spring cleaning. Hyunsuk and Jinyoung had already done this, now outside.
I heard the door open, and Byounggon walked inside the cabin. "Hey, Yonghee."
"Hey."
He looked down at his feet, swaying back and forth. He looked like there was something on his mind, but I just looked away and continued packing.
"I'm gay, Yonghee."
I froze. No, it wasn't an issue, but things were clicking together a lot better. "Oh. Okay."
Byounggon looked less tense, as if a weight was finally off his shoulders. "Some people care. Like Areum."
"I used to like Areum," was all I said. "I'm glad that Sunghoon's obsessed with her now. Takes the weight off my shoulders."
"I'm guessing." Byounggon sighed, sticking his hands into his pockets. "Jinyoung also wanted me to tell you that the kitchen is probably open by now. Lunch's well gone, so I'm sure we can get into the kitchen cabin."
"Oh." I finished tucking away my final shirt, looking back at him. "Now? So we're going now?"
"Well, yeah. Hyunsuk was going to come with us, but he's busy with something else right now. Anyways, let's just go."
I followed him out of the cabin, headed towards the dining hall. We didn't eat in there unless the weather was bad, but it was summer, so that wasn't exactly frequent.
Surprisingly, the door was unlocked, but it creaked open so loudly that I was sure that we were going to get caught. "Byounggon..."
"We'll be fine." The hall was empty, but I wasn't too sure about the kitchen. We quickly sped down towards the kitchen door, and Byounggon sighed before he cracked open the door.
Empty.
I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. We slipped inside and split up. I opened up a drawer, only finding baking materials. "Not this one."
"Not this, either." Byounggon held up a potato peeler. "This is the closest thing I've found. It's either peel him or grate him to death."
I chuckled, but stopped once I found the drawer we were looking for. I found a chef's knife, but then I got another question. "Wait, how am I supposed to smuggle this out?"
Byounggon tugged off his sweater, revealing the t-shirt he wore underneath. He placed the sweater down on the island before walking over to me, taking the knife.
"Here." He put down the knife on top of the thick sweater before strategically folding it. Once he was done and he picked it up, it merely looked like he had balled up his sweater after getting hot. He was a genius, I must admit.
"Okay, let's get out of here."
Byounggon and I exited the way we came, closing the door to the kitchen. We rushed across the hall, but the door opened before we could open it.
I was scared only for a moment. "Late to the party, Hyunsuk."
"Sorry." He gave a sheepish smile, eyes darting to the side. "Let's go. Seojun's about to start calling everyone in to make s'mores."
"Okay."
We walked back to the Chrysanthemum cabin, finding Jinyoung and Seunghun in there. Byounggon placed down his sweater, unwrapping his folding and handing the knife to the younger. "Here."
"Thanks." Jinyoung took the knife, slipping it into his bag. "I don't know if I should wash the knife before or after we meet with Jaeseok."
"After," Seunghun responded almost immediately. "We have to flee out of here as quickly as possible."
"Okay. Yeah, that makes sense." Before he could say any more, there was a knock on the door. Sunghoon's head popped in.
"Mr. Lee wants us to make s'mores."
"Alright," I replied smoothly. I wasn't about to make it obvious that we had just been talking about murdering the aforementioned camp leader. "Let's go, guys."
