As was customary, there were now five of us back in the tent. Jinyoung had his burner phone pressed to his ear. "Hey, Jaeseok."
Jaeseok was Jinyoung's... guardian, I presumed. Jinyoung didn't exactly say much about his family or parents, only that Jaeseok was the person who had sent Jinyoung to camp in the first place.
"In two nights," Jinyoung specified into the phone. "So not tonight or tomorrow night, but the next night."
Nobody spoke. Nobody even moved. I rocked slightly back and forth.
"Great." Jinyoung hung up the phone, his attention now falling to us. I held my breath for whatever reason. "We're good for an... escape, for lack of a better word. Now there's just everything else. We can deal with that tomorrow."
"Alright then," Seunghun concluded. Jinyoung, Hyunsuk, and Yonghee filed out of our tent. I was nervous.
I glanced at Seunghun. "Are you sure that you want to do this?"
He only shrugged, but there was more that he wasn't saying. "Are you?"
"I wasn't the one who..." No. Not quite right. If anything, I didn't want Seunghun to feel bad for anything. "Look, I'm here to support you as your whatever-we-are. I feel like my whole opinion– which, yes, I'm sure– matters less that yours does."
"Well." Seunghun didn't say anything more, so I took it as my sign to roll over and sleep. This was complicated, yes, but it would all be dealt with in the morning.
