Nobody visited me for visitors day. Initially, at least.
I spent my time before Jaeseok showed up lurking around the campsite, learning every inch of it. I noted the creaky floorboard in my cabin, the amount the door could open without squealing on it's hinges, and which places created the most sound on my bed. I then walked outside, noticing protruding tree roots that were tripping hazards and where a few of the sticks we'd had to find to make a campfire had been dropped.
I was about to move ahead, but I heard voices. Seunghun, his boy toy— Byounggon— and one of the annoying people who's name I couldn't bother to remember. Annoying-Person-Number-Three wasn't loud enough for me to hear him, but he smirked in a way that I knew he was doing what he did best. Seunghun retorted back at him with an even weaker voice, eventually getting up from his seat on the log and looking back at Byounggon apologetically. He started towards the woods, and Annoying-Person-Number-Three dragged Byounggon off to the visitors area. I followed behind them, quiet and light on my feet. I was pretty sure I passed Hyunsuk on the way, but I hadn't bothered to look.
Annoying-Person-Number-Three sat Byounggon down just next to the area, out of earshot to all the guests. Byounggon only scowled at him. "Soobin," he grumbled.
"Byounggon," Soobin responded, voice cheery despite the undertones in it. "So... I've heard that you and Seunghun are a thing."
"Not exactly," Byounggon replied. One strike!
"Okay, sure." Soobin looked down for a moment, meeting eyes with Byounggon again. "I hope you know that he's in love with Seojun."
"Ridiculous," Byounggon replied. Did he only speak in one-word sentences or did Soobin not deserve any more brainpower? I assumed the latter. Strike two!
Soobin clearly wasn't getting the reaction that he wanted. "That doesn't... bother you?"
"It's unrealistic." Strike three! God, why did Byounggon need a tent? I would've been enjoy my stay much more with him in my cabin.
In any other situation, Soobin would be out of luck, but he had another trick up his sleeve. "What if it was completely real?"
"If anything, Seojun's been leering at Seunghun the entire time we've been here."
"Okay. I see what this is." Soobin reached forwards, folding Byounggon's hands into his lap. "You're jealous because hes's your boyfriend."
Byounggon shook his head, though the slightest bit of pink dusted his cheeks. "I'm not jealous, I'm looking at this from a legal standpoint."
"He's been called out to the woods."
"And you didn't think that was weird?" Byounggon asked. "Think about it; this 27 year old man calls a random teenager out into the woods and has been staring at him for the past two weeks like a predator. You didn't question it? You didn't think?"
"Seunghun's too perfect to be raped. Too plastic."
God. I couldn't listen to any more of their conversation before I was called to talk to Jaeseok, but it was clear to me that Byounggon was a force to be reckoned with. Jaeseok only spoke with me briefly, as I quickly debrifed him and explained what was going on outside, but when I got back, the two were gone.
