When I got off the bus and grabbed my duffel bag, I proceeded to try and stay a part of the clump of people. Usually, I'd stand on my own, but Seojun was already leering at me. I didn't want to risk another... last year.
The person I ended up standing next to looked at me. His duffel was oddly full, almost like it was overstuffed. "Um, hi."
"Hi." I knew this formula; this was a way of asking for a name without doing it first. "I'm Kim Seunghun. It's my fourth year here."
"Lee Byounggon." He smiled, and, god, it was so beautiful that I had to smile back. "It's my first year here. And probably my last."
I wanted to ask what that meant, but I could read his tone. Even if I had wanted to pop out a question, I would've been cut off.
"Your smile is really pretty."
"Oh." That was exactly what I was thinking about Byounggon. "I was going to say the same thing."
Byounggon smiled again, this one not as wide, but still able to sweep me off my feet. I was happy that we wouldn't continue the conversation solely because Seojun was talking. I noted that I should probably talk to him later, though. He was nice.
My happiness was short-lived, however. I caught sight of Soobin in the corner, looking at me suspiciously. He was the only person who knew a piece of what happened to me last year, but I'm pretty sure he took is as consensual and thought I was gay. Nothing wrong with that, obviously, but that wasn't what happened.
Ugh, I didn't want to think about it any more. Seojun had always been able to read my expressions, so he was eyeing me again as he had last year. If only I had the heart to tell my parents what he did to me, because maybe I wouldn't have to see him ever again.
Too late.
Even while Seojun was lecturing everyone, his eyes were on me. God, he's creepy. They flitted away for a moment to look at someone else, but I could never follow them quickly enough before they were on me again. Byounggon must've noticed my fear, because he squeezed by hand and left it at that.
