CHAPTER 9: Piece

Ei's POV:

I can't help but be concerned about this woman. What is bothering her so much that she can't concentrate on the game? She's staring into space now that she's finished talking with Tengu. I'm referring to Sara. Sara is my cousin.  It doesn't appear to be so, but we're cousins, and our friends don't know about it; they didn't ask, so there's no reason for them to.

I was simply staring at her. It went unnoticed by me. Miko, on the other hand, spoke to me and assured me that she is OK. I'm still concerned about what happened. That must be terrible and traumatizing. Because of this... I can't help but be concerned about her. There's something about her... makes me want to protect her, to keep her secure. But I'm not sure what I'm feeling; what is it?

 "I'm afraid I can't take you home because I have some... business with my father. My personal driver will send you home. I can't accept any no," I said. My fathers butler contacted me, about father who is a mess. I cant just let that be, I am still his daughter after all. 

"Y-yes, I guess I don't have a choice since you won't stop unless I agree to let your driver drive me home." she said. I just replied with a single word, "Good,".

Miko's cheeks were... red. Is she sick? Is that why she's staring at empty space? There I am again, caring too much about this woman. I can't help but wonder if she's okay. "Are you okay, Miko? Your cheeks are red, perhaps you're sick?" I questioned, placing my palm on her forehead to see if she had a fever.

Is she that sick that she became bright red? "I-I'm alright, Ei. J-just need some rest," she explained. I texted my driver to bring snacks and medicines. My father made a donation to this school, so I believe I may do whatever I want here.

"Are you sure you guys are not dating? Just the look at you two seemed you two are dating" said her friend, Lumine. "Shes just a worried friend of mine, idiot" said Miko.

Friend. Why did that word... stabbed my heart. Whats this? This... unfamiliar feeling. The final round then started. This a battle between different aces from each others class teams. 

Xiao, Itto, Childe, are the aces of the Class 1-B Team 4. Meanwhile, Zhongli, Eula, Venti are the aces of my class. This will be an intense battle.

Ms. Shenhe blew her whistle, and the game began. All of our classmates are screaming at the top of their lungs, while Hu Tao and the others maintain a calm expression. It's as if they believe Xiao and the others will emerge victorious. Interesting... friendship of a certain kind.

Miko's gaze was fixed on my close friend at the time. It was... Zhongli. Is she... do she like him? Is she attracted to him? This thought bothered me until Miko nudged me and asked me a question. "A-ah yes, Miko, do you need anything?" I inquired.

"That's your close friend, right?" she asked. "Yes, and why is that? Do you need something from him?" I asked. She just nodded. What does she need from him? Do they even know each other, and if yes, how? When? Why are this thoughts running through my head. It's not even like Miko's my... g-girlfriend. Just the thought of that made me blush. Seriously, what is happening to me.

I started focusing on the game, and one minute had passed. Ours was the throwing class, and the dodgers were Class 1-B. And, to to my surprise... Class 1-B has full members, with no members outside of the game. This may annoy Eula, our class president. She's a kind person, but her choice of words is... Not nearly right. So, if she says anything nasty, know that she did not intend it. When she's talking to Amber, she just uses sweet words. It's probably because Amber is her lover.

Again, one minute has gone and just one member of Class 1-B has been eliminated. This may be a bad thing. After all, one false move and we'll be defeated, and my class is competitive even if it's simply a regular sports competition between classes.
