Ei's POV:

"Miko?" I said.

"Hmm?"

"Do you... remember our promises?"

"Of course. In fact, I clearly remember it all," she chuckled.

"Then...."

"Yes, Ei. Even that silly promise of ours, I remember it," she said.

*PAST MEMORIES*

Author's POV:

"When we grow up, Ei, are you going to get into a relationship straight away?" Miko said.

"Why are you asking that, Miko? We're still young, and you're thinking about that," Ei giggled.

"Answer it," Miko pouted.

"It depends," Ei said, smiling. "You're no fun," Miko grumbled as she crossed her arms.

"Well, when we're older, I'd ask you out," Ei said. Miko's face reddened.

"R-really?" Miko inquired. Ei nodded and smiled at Miko, and Miko can't help but fall in love with Ei even though they're so young.

"Let's make a promise then," Miko said. "Promise to be my girlfriend as we grow up," Miko continued, smiling.

"I promise," Ei smiled as she pinky promised Miko.

Ei's POV:

"You have no idea how much I missed you when I remembered it all," I said, hugging her more tightly.

"I have the same feeling as you; for years, I've felt like something was missing inside me; I thought it was Makoto, but it wasn't; there was something else, and I don't know what it was; but, when I saw you for the first time at the park, I was.... happy. I didn't know why, but I felt relieved when I saw you," I explained.

"A part of me wanted to call you and ask your name right away, but I don't have the guts for it, and I admit I was sort of... sad when you left,"

"But when I saw you again at school, my heart raced, I was happy, and my cheeks were.... red,"

"I told myself to suppress it, and when I spotted you on the rooftop, I gathered all of my courage and tried to talk to you; I was glad, I was.... completely full of joy, as if the missing piece had been found,"

"Time passed, and I kept having these headaches and memories flashing through my mind, but they were hazy. I kept thinking about the girl on those memories.... and it was you. I couldn't believe it at first, but it was you. I was so happy that I.... found you again, and I hate myself for leaving you and causing you this pain for years," I stated.

"No, Ei, don't apologize," she replied, cupping my cheeks. "Don't hate yourself, it wasn't your intention to leave me, it just....happened; we don't know why we got separated and why our parents hid it from us, but let's focus on the present; we're here now, together, reunited," she said, looking me in the eyes.

Oh, how I miss staring into your lovely eyes; it's as if I'm drowning in them.

"Tell me everything that's happened in your life; I want to know everything," she urged.

"Nothing much; I'm simply always dealing with.... the company and going to Makoto's grave," I said.

With such sad eyes, she looked at me. "Let's go see her together, Ei," she added with a smile.

"I'd love to, and... Makoto will be delighted if you came to see her; I'm sure she misses nagging at you," I chuckled.

Miko's laughter was like music to my ears.
