Ei's POV

"Why are you still not looking at me?" I asked.

We're in a park, strolling down and feeling the cool night breeze on our skin; it's chilly but relaxing. She didn't respond. I came to a halt, but she continued walking.

Ah. She finally returned her gaze to mine.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"You're not looking at me," I said. "Did I upset you in any way?" I asked.

"No," she replied. "Then why are you acting distant toward me?" I inquired.

"I'm not," Ei sighed. "Are you tired? I can call your uncle and have him take us home," I said.

"No, I'm not tired," she said as she sat down on the grass, so I joined her.

"Is there something bothering you?" I inquired. "Kind of," she admitted.

"Would you like to... talk about it?" I asked.

"Ei,"

"Hmm?"

"Close your eyes," she said.

"Why?"

"Just do it,"

I closed my eyes and was shocked to find.... that she hugged me.

"What's wrong, Miko?" I asked as I hugged her and stroked her hair.

"I.... missed you so much," she said. I was caught.... off-guard.

"I'm not sure I understand, Miko," I said. Is this the part where she'll tell me she remembers everything?

"You used to hug me like this whenever I feel troubled," she said.

Shall I.... tell her that I remember everything?

"I know you're puzzled right now, but I have an expl-"

"Miko,"

"Y-yes?"

"Makoto will be mad at you again for spoiling me with sweets," I chuckled, pulling away from the hug and looking at me with wide eyes, shocked.

"Y-you.... remember?"

"Yes, Miko," I smiled at her.

She was tearing up and I panicked. "H-hey, what's wrong?"

She suddenly hugged me again and broke down in tears. I just hugged her back, wrapping a warm embrace around her to keep her warm from the cold, and stroked her hair.

"Shh, I expected you to be happy and smiling like a child, but look at you now, crying like a kid, just like we were when we were kids," I chuckled.

"Dummy," she said as she thumped her fist into my chest.

"I'm here, I said I wouldn't leave you, right?" I said, stroking her hair once more.

"You were the missing piece of me; for years, I've felt like something was missing from me, but I've always shrugged it off, and I've always had a dream with a girl who cares so much about me," she explained.

"I'm sorry you were a part of that incident,"

"You don't have to apologize for that, Ei," she sobbed.

"I-I'm just happy that I remember everything, and you remember everything as well, and I'm just happy that.... you're just here with me," she said.

This is a good moment.... for a confession, right?
