The sunshine came pouring into the quiet room. Cassie rolled over and sighed, she got up out of the bed and went over to look out the window. There were birds chirping outside, a tree brushing against the house, she closed her eyes and listened to the world around her. The door to her room bursted open and Stefan came barging in, "Someone took Elena." Cassie turned to face him, she could sense the worry, "Alright? What do you want me to do about it?" Stefan let out a frustrated groan and rubbed his forehead, "I don't know, maybe try and help us find her. I can't let her die." Cassie sighed, she knows that kind of love. The love that made you want to die for each other, the kind of love that made you want them all the time. She remembered it fondly, she missed the one she loved, having not seen him in almost 2 years killed her. "Fine, at least let me get dressed first."

She walked down the stairs of the Salvatore manor. Damon, Stefan, Bonnie, and Jeremy were sitting in the living room, they all turned their attention when she came in. "I can do a locator spell, or I could connect to her directly. Your choice." Bonnie looked at her, "You can talk to her?" Cassie shrugged, "Well not technically, I can see what's around her, get a look inside what she's seeing. It'll give me an idea of what we're up against." Bonnie slowly nodded, looking down. "Only thing is, I'll need blood, fresh, from someone related for a better connection." She looked at Jeremy, "I'm not giving you my blood." Cassie groaned, "Do you want to find her or not?" Jeremy sighed and nodded. "Oh goody, I need a map and a dagger." Bonnie stood up, "I'll go get some candles." Cassie giggled, "Oh no need, I draw my power from my vampire side, no fire or candles needed. I'm just that special."

There it was, the map, and a few drops of Jeremy's blood. She channeled all of her focus onto Elena, "Ahsorum dolusantum infidictus." She whispered the words, she kept all of her focus on Elena. Flashes came over her, she could see a building, old and beaten down, but grand. There was Elena. Another flash and there was Rose, a face she had almost forgotten, "Elijah should be here soon." Chills ran over her arms, she snapped herself out of the visions. Her breathing was heavy, "I know where she is." She turned to walk away before Stefan grabbed her arm, "Where is she?" Cassie rolled her eyes, "I'm not telling you Stefan, things are going to get ugly and the last thing I need is you imbeciles getting in the way. I'll keep Elena safe, I promise, because right now, I'm much safer than the hands she's about to be put in." Cassie grabbed her coat and rushed off, getting into her car she pulled out of the driveway as fast as she could. If Elijah was there, it meant Elena was as safe as she could possibly be. Or she's a dead girl walking.

Cassie drove for hours, down long winding paths, past old farms and miles of empty fields. It was almost night before she pulled into the driveway of the house. She stepped out of the car and closed the door as quietly as she could, she stepped down the long gravel road. Each step was careful and quiet, not daring to make a sound. Cassie slowly entered the doors of the house, she could see light to her left. She slowly made her way towards it, there was a grand room, a chandelier was lit up above. There stood Elena, she sure was a doppelgänger. A spitting image of Katherine. Even farther left was Rose, she stood there, looking impatient, her foot was tapping on the concrete floor. She seemed on edge and anxious.

Cassie took another step, she heard the faintest gust of wind behind her, before she could turn a hand came over her mouth. She struggled against it before the person whispered down her neck, "It's me darling." She suddenly stopped. Elijah. Cassie took a deep breath and turned around, and there he was. He had changed, his hair was a bit shorter, he looked more rugged and tired. Cassie immediately wrapped her arms around him, the feeling of his body against hers put her at ease. Elijah put her at ease. "I've missed you." Her words were barely above a whisper. Elijah put his hand on the back of her head and stroked her hair softly. "Likewise, it's been too long mi amore." Cassie couldn't help but smile. For over a thousand years Elijah had come up with little pet names for Cassie. It was his way of telling her, himself, and others that she belonged to him, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
