A/N: Another long chapter! Get comfy my lovelies<3
Cassie walked into the church, the place was completely quiet, not a sound, not a thing moved. "Anyone there?" Still nothing, she shrugged and made her way upstairs. When she got to the attic door she knocked softly. "Davina? I'm here and I've got burgers and some sweets from the bakery!" The door swung open with a joyous Davina on the other side, "Vanilla bean scones?" She held the bag up and shook it, "Chocolate as well." Davina opened the door even wider, Cassie walked in and put the bag of food down on her bed. She shrugged her jacket off and threw it on the chair opposite of the bed. "So how are the babies?" Cassie giggled, "They're doing just fine, making me sick as per usual and I'm extremely starving. I'll never be able to understand it." She smiled, "Any name ideas yet?" Davina sat down on her bed and began taking some of the food from the bag.
Cassie sat across from her, she grabbed a burger from the bag and began unwrapping it. "Not yet, everyone keeps asking me that and yet I still haven't even thought about it." Davina groaned, "Come on Cassie!" She held up her hands, "Hey now, I did find out the genders though, it's a boy and a girl." Her face lit up, "No way! Really?" Cassie nodded as she took a big bite of the burger, "That's amazing! You've got to be a little bit excited!" Cassie bit her lip, "Maybe just a little bit..." Davina gave her a big smile, "Of course you are, don't even try to hide it." She unwrapped a scone from the neat foil closed around it, "Thank you for this, I don't get many guests." Cassie smirked, "Really? I mean when you live in the attic of an old church I would expect many visitors." Davina smiled, but it slowly faded, "I want to leave. I can't keep living like this." Cassie put her hand on her shoulder, "I'll talk to Marcel, we can work something out, ok?" She nodded and forced a smile, "Thanks Cassie." She winked, "Anytime doll face."
Her phone vibrated inside her pocket, she pulled it out and saw Hayley's contact number, she quickly picked it up, "Hayley, is everything alright?" A sigh came from the other line, "Just stuck in some Mikaelson drama that's all." Cassie chuckled, "Welcome to my life, what have they gotten into now?" Hayley groaned, "Klaus bit Elijah, so now I'm stuck in the bayou with a hallucinating Elijah and a pack of werewolves somewhere around here." Cassie quickly stood up, "I'll be there as soon as possible. You do not want to be alone with Elijah when this all goes down." Before she had the chance to hang up the sound of Hayley's voice stopped her, "What do you mean by, before this all goes down?" She shrugged her jacket back on, "Elijah isn't exactly one to control the temptations he may face with a werewolf bite, I know that from first hand experience. I'll be there as soon as I can, just hang tight." She hung up and grabbed her purse, "I have to go Davina, I'll stop by again sometime soon, alright?" Davina gave her a big smile and nodded, "Just be safe."

When Cassie got to the bayou it was pretty much empty. As she trudged through the mud she couldn't help but gag, she looked down at her boots which were now covered in dirt and lord knows what else. "Hayley!" She called it out but there was no response, she kept walking, the heat of the sun made Cassie sweat. The moisture sticking onto her skin, Cassie took her jacket off and carefully wrapped it around her waist. It wasn't long later when she found a small cabin by the water, "Hayley?" The door swung open and Hayley came walking out, "Thank god you're here, he's a mess." Cassie chuckled, before she knew it Hayley had her arms wrapped around her, jaw going slack at the warm embrace, "I have to apologize I'm all sweaty." Hayley smiled, "No need, it's a freaking sauna out here." She pulled away and lead Cassie inside of the hut.
There was a small bed in the corner, Elijah lay limp on it. His face was colorless and sweat was dripping from his forehead, "You look terrible." He forced a smile, "Why are you here?" Cassie put her jacket down on the table next to the door, "I'm helping out a friend... and by friend I mean Hayley, not you." Elijah groaned, "Still angry I presume?" She shook her head, "No, no... just, annoyed. We both know I'm going to hold this grudge for as long as I can, might as well enjoy it whilst it lasts." She sat down on the edge of the bed, she pressed her palm to his forehead, "You're burning up..." His hand came up and grabbed her wrist, in pure shock she let out a gasp. She quickly stood up, but with that she was engulfed in the long lost memories of her past.
