"So why are you luring Kol here again?" Elena sighed, "So we can talk to him. He knows something about Silas and the cure, we want to know." Cassie nodded, "And that's all? You want to just, talk, to Kol? Kol Mikaelson?" Elena nodded, "He's desperate, he'll do anything at this point." Cassie sighed. She's been sitting on the Gilbert's couch for almost two days. It wasn't all bad, she had Jeremy waiting on her, Caroline would come over to watch movies with her and Elena was constantly cooking her meals. She had to admit it wasn't all bad, except for when she tried to shower with the help of Caroline, needless to say it ended in a lot of laughing for Caroline and tears on Cassie's part. She flipped through her book while Jeremy sat on the other end of the couch playing video games. Cassie sighed, he paused his game and looked at her, "Can I get you anything?"

She giggled, "No it's alright. Thank you though, it means a lot, you doing this all for me." Jeremy looked around, "Can I be honest with you?" Cassie nodded, closing her book. "You remind me of my Aunt Jenna. I don't know why but you do." She smiled, "That's very sweet, I could only dream of living up to the legacy she left." Jeremy shifted, facing more towards her, "No I'm serious. You've looked out for us. Why though? We've given you plenty of reasons to want to kill us." She sighed, "No idea. I'm a terrible person. I've done, unforgivable things. I don't even know how many people I've slaughtered, innocent people. Yet when I'm around people like you, Elena, Caroline, or Matt... You kids don't see that. You see me as a person, you don't see the things I've done." He put his hand on her leg, "Don't let your past define you. Sure, you've done terrible things but you're different now. You look after people, you can't be all that evil, you own a bakery." They both started laughing, Cassie smiled, "Thank you Jer, means a lot." He nodded, "Anytime."

A knock came from the front door, Jeremy stood up, Elena came running down the stairs, she looked at Jeremy, he ran out the back door, "What is going on?" Elena sighed, "We didn't want Kol knowing Jeremy was here." Cassie furrowed her brows. Why? She pushed her suspicions away. She could hear Elena opening up the door. There was some chatter but she couldn't quite make it out. Cassie groaned, one of the things she missed. Foot steps sounded through the hallway, Cassie sat up, Elena walked in, she looked at Cassie then back at the ground. A familiar face walked in not far behind her, "Ah, well if it isn't the lovely Cassie May. You look terrible darling." She rolled her eyes, "Nice to see you too Kol." He snickered, "You love me admit it." She laughed, "Oh I do. In your dreams." Cassie gave him a smile, he smirked, stepping into the kitchen with Elena.

The two talked for a while. Talking about Kol's irrational fear of Silas, the cure, and their plan. Elena seemed anxious, Cassie just sat on the couch observing but she could tell. Something about Elena's uneasiness set Cassie in a difficult position. She needed to move, it get up, to help. "Cassie would you like something to drink?" She perked up, "Bourbon please." She sinked back into the couch cushions. Cassie sighed, Elena came around the corner, she handed her the glass with a smile on her face, "There you go." Cassie smiled, "Thank you doll face." She took a sip of it, it wasn't bad. Something about it made her stomach turn. Cassie took another sip before setting it down on the table. Anxiety set in, her gut telling her she needed to get up. "I shouldn't be standing but I need to get up." Cassie swung her legs off the couch, a dizzy feeling struck her head. Her eyelids began to get heavy, Cassie let out a breathe. "What the hell..?" When she went to stand up she crashed back down on the ground. Looking into the kitchen she saw figures moving about. Commotion and voices but it all faded before Cassie could do a thing.

When she opened her eyes she could see bright lights, shades of orange and yellow. A scream ripped through the room, Cassie dug her nails into the floorboard, inching towards the kitchen. The blurry lights were moving around, before finally crashing on the floor. Inching towards it her mind finally registered what was going on. Cassie looked up at Jeremy, he made direct eye contact with her. Her heart shattered as she realized who it was, "Kol..." She couldn't get the words out, she reached her hand out, trying desperately to hold him, to stop it. They were never close, yet she couldn't stop herself from crying. The body sat there and burnt, she turned away from the scene, she couldn't look at either of them for another minute. Her eyes locked on Klaus, he was angry, but when his gaze locked with hers his expression softened. A tear rolled down her cheek. Kol was dead, along with thousands of other vampires.
