Cassie sighed as she stared at her body in the mirror. She wasn't far along, but with carrying twins she'd grown twice her size in just a few months. All of her tight fit clothes went straight out the window, "You alright in here?" Elijah leaned against her door frame, admiring her whilst she admired herself. "No. None of my cute clothes fit anymore, twins suck." She held her stomach, a quiet groan escaping her lips. "You look beautiful don't worry." She blushed, "I never said I wasn't. Just said I don't fit into any of my clothes." When she turned around Elijah could no longer fight back his grin, "If we absolutely need to we can get you some clothes, whatever you may need we have at our finger tips." She smiled, the sound of the doorbell ringing sounded through out the house. "That must be Avery." Cassie quickly left the room and walked down the stairs. When she opened the door she was met with a grin and a bright bouquet of flowers, "I got you flowers, wasn't sure what you liked so I... I got them from the flower field..." Her breathe caught in her throat, "That flower field?" He nodded, "I didn't go near the tree, if you were wondering." Avery held them out and she took them carefully. It was made from vibrant shades of oranges, pinks, and yellows. Cassie smiled, "Thank you, so much, please come in." She stepped aside, opening the door wider. When he made his way inside his eyes locked on something at the base of the stairs, he gave a respectful nod, "Elijah. Pleasure to see you..." Avery trailed off, Elijah nodded back, "You as well." Cassie bit her lip, "Sorry, to the both of you..." Avery shook his head, "Don't be, not awkward at all. It's not awkward for me is it awkward for you?" He pointed towards Elijah who had his eyes wide, "No... not at all. I'll leave you two be." With that he walked back up the stairs and in the direction of his bedroom.
"I can't stay long, the bakery has been really busy with spring coming up, just wanted to stop by and see how you are, how the twins were doing." Cassie sighed, "They're a pain in my ass, my back hurts and I'm constantly hungry." He chuckled, "They are so our kids." Cassie nodded in agreement, "Thank you again for the flowers. It means a lot." Avery smirked, "Anytime, I'll see you later? Alright? Maybe we could go grab dinner?" Cassie bit her lip, "Not tonight, but definitely some other time... ok?" Avery's face dropped slightly, "Yeah sure..." He leaned in and gave Cassie a kiss on her forehead and left without saying another word. Cassie let out what was between a groan and a scream. "Why can't my life just be easy for once?" She called it out, staring at the ceiling, calling to no one in particular. "It's because your in relation with us Mikaelson's. We carry nothing but uneasiness." Elijah smirked as he watched Cassie.
"Shut it." He chuckled, "When are you going to tell Avery?" Cassie looked over at him, "That I'm not interested in dating him? Oh I don't know, let me just tell him straight to his face that I have feelings for someone else." She covered her mouth as soon as the words left her mouth. Quick foot steps came from upstairs, "If I heard things right did you just admit your feelings for Hayley?" Cassie rolled her eyes, "Bex!" She giggled, "You love Hayley!" Elijah rubbed his temples, "Love?" Cassie held her arms up, letting them ball into fists, "I never said love! Why is everyone jumping the gun? God I hate you all!" Rebekah nudged Elijah's shoulder, "She's at the point in her pregnancy where her emotions are heightened the most." Her arms dropped, "What are you my nurse?" Rebekah just shrugged, "I'm the closest thing, it's not like your niece has been doing much." Elijah whipped his head to look at Cassie, "What niece?"
"Her name is Jennifer Ledger, she's a registered nurse and her great aunt was Allison Salvatore." His eyebrows raised, slowly but surely taking in the words, "You have more family here?" She nodded, "Us Salvatore's are everywhere, it's never ending." Rebekah walked down the stairs, her boots hitting the wood, she grabbed Cassie's shoulder, "We have business to attend to, you darling, are going to stay here. There's plenty of books in the living room." Elijah walked down the stairs, keeping his eyes on the girls, "There's a book I think you should read Cassandra, I left it on the coffee table if you'd like to check it out." Cassie looked between the two of them, "Have you both gone mad? I'm coming with." She chuckled, "No you are not, we're about to walk right into Nik's new home with his very pregnant werewolf inside. There are going to be vampires everywhere. It won't be safe." Cassie laughed, "If you're rescuing Hayley I'm coming with, and who better to take out vampires than I? You two act like I'm a goddamn China doll, now come on. I'll get the car started."
