A/N: Sorry this chapter is kinda short!

Scanning her closet she saw nothing. The decades dance was tonight and the theme was 60s, she hated the 60s and never thought to save the clothes from that era. Cassie kept searching, studying every piece of clothing she had, but nothing. Cassie heard a knock on the door, she went downstairs, and made her way towards the door. She opened it slowly but saw there was no one out there. Suddenly something caught her eye, laying at the foot of the door was a royal blue box with a bright white bow wrapped around it. Cassie narrowed her eyes, she picked up the box and took another look around the front yard, not a single movement. She closed the door and brought the box upstairs to her room. Quickly, she shut the door and put the box on her bed. Cassie adjusted her robe and sighed. She wasn't going to take any chances.

She stepped back, about four feet away from the ominous blue box. "Icaeus." She held out her hand and slowly the white ribbon began to unravel, the lid was opened and she looked down at it. Nothing jumped out, nothing moved. Cassie let the lid drop and went to look at the remains, there was a note on the top, but underneath laid a beautiful glittery print dress. The colors were vibrant, but not over powering. She picked up the note and there in bold italic writing laid her name, Cassie May. Chills ran down her spine as she flipped it over. "I've missed you love, it's been quite a long time and I look forward to seeing you once again at tonight's dance. The only thing that could make this night better would be to see you in this wonderful dress. I haven't seen you in almost 60 years, I'm sure you're just as stunning as the day you stabbed me in the back. With love, Nik." Her breathe caught in her throat. Sounds like he was just as pissed as she was.

Cassie put the note to the side and held up the dress. It really was a beautiful dress, as much as she despised Klaus at the moment, he had impeccable taste. A soft knock on her door startled Cassie out of her thoughts, she quickly shoved the box and note under bed, "Come in." Stefan walked in, "You almost ready?" Cassie nodded and smiled, "Just need to do my makeup, hair, and put on an outfit then I'll be ready." Stefan rolled his eyes, "So no?" Cassie shrugged and shoved him out of her doorway, she shut the door behind him and went to get herself ready.

When she was finally ready she couldn't believe it. Not a thing had changed. Her hair was darker, there was also more mystery and tiredness behind her eyes. Cassie sighed, she walked out of her room and down the stairs. She knew about tonight's plan, she knew Klaus would be there. She also knew Bonnie was dead set on killing him and herself in the process. When she got to the living room there stood everyone, Alaric, Bonnie, Jeremy, Elena, Stefan, and Damon. "Is everyone ready?" Damon clapped his hands together and looked around the room, everyone nodded. Cassie scanned the room, her eyes landed on Alaric, something about him was off. His demeanor and the way he stood was different, Cassie tried to brush it off, but that feeling stuck with her.

The dance was busy once they got there, music was pouring out of the gymnasium, it brought her back to those times and she smiled. She hated the 60s with every fiber of her being, it was one of the darkest times in her life, not so much the late part of the decade, but the early part. After Allison's death she had left the bakery and gave it to a sweet old woman she had known with her time in New Orleans. Once she left she had gone through one of the worst ripper binges she'd ever had. Around 1965 is when she lost count, she lost count of how many people she slaughtered. 1967 is when Cassie moved to Venezuela. Cassie stopped her ripper habits all on her own, she didn't need Klaus, Elijah, or her dear nephews to help her. That, was a damn good feeling.

Cassie leaned up against a table in the corner of the room, no one was around. She sipped on the punch, which she was sure was spiked, and scanned the room looking for that familiar face. Before long Alaric came and stood beside Cassie, something about him now ran chills down her spine. Alaric pulled something out of his jacket, it was a flask, he offered it to her and Cassie happily obliged. She poured a bit into her drink and went on, sipping quietly. "Anything?" She looked up to her right and looked at Alaric, he was standing oddly close. "Nothing yet." Cassie nodded and turned her attention back to the dance floor, Bonnie and Jeremy were slow dancing, and Elena was having the time of her life. "How was the 60s for you?" She looked back at Alaric, his eyes met hers and she quickly looked away once again, "Awful, why do you ask?" Alaric put his hands in his pockets, "Just curious, that's all Cassie May." She immediately straightened up.

"Hello Niklaus." She looked back up at him, he met her eyes once again but instead of a soft look, there was a devilish grin on his face, he raised an eyebrow, "It's lovely to see you again, oh how I've missed you." He brought his hand up and gently caressed the skin on her cheek, Cassie gave him a glare, wrinkling her nose just slightly, "I would say the same but then I'd be lying." His hand dropped and Cassie smiled which only made Klaus' fade, "Oh come on love, don't act like you hate me now." Cassie couldn't help but laugh, "Do you remember our last interaction? I have every right to hate you." Klaus sighed, "I will admit, our last interaction was, complicated, but don't forget all the other moments that happened back then, how much fun we had. Running around New Orleans, you ripping apart every person we encountered, trying to run a bakery, keeping our love for each other buried deep down. Ah the good old days." Cassie's eyes widened, "Don't think for second that I won't kill you." Klaus smiled, "You won't kill me, that's the little Bennett witch's job. Wouldn't want to screw up the plan now would you?"

With that he simply walked away. He disappeared out of the gym and down one of the hallways. Cassie ran to the dance floor, she found Stefan and Damon in the middle of it, "It's Alaric, Klaus, he's in Alaric's body." They stopped dancing, Stefan looked around, "We need Bonnie." Cassie grabbed his arm, "I'm doing it, he has made my life a living hell, I get to kill him." Damon raised an eyebrow, "Bonnie has all the power right now, plus when it comes down to it are you really willing to kill Klaus?" Cassie paused and took a deep breath, she nodded. "I'll kill him if it means Bonnie's ok." Stefan gave her a small smile, Cassie lead them out the door and down the hallway he was in. She heard something coming from the cafeteria, she turned around to look at Damon and Stefan, the both nodded and she continued walking. Cassie made her way into the cafeteria but as soon as she got in she shut the doors behind her, locking Damon and Stefan out.

"Vis sera portus." They banged on the doors, but they didn't budge, she turned around and there stood Klaus. "The doors are locked, the only way they're going to be be unlocked is if I kill you, or you kill me. Choice is yours." Klaus smirked, "I won't hesitate to kill you." Cassie took a step towards him, "That's where your wrong Nik, you will. You're a monster, but deep down you still care, about me, about your family." Cassie kept getting closer, she was only a foot away from him, she slowly reached out her hand and intertwined it with his, "I know you haven't forgotten what it's like, to be human. When-... when you still loved me. Nik I don't want to hurt you, Elijah wouldn't want me to either. At the end of the day we're still family. You may have turned your back on your family, but I haven't." Cassie tightened her grip on his hand, there was a moment, a flicker of sorrow in his eyes, but it was quickly diminished.

Klaus grabbed her by the throat, his other hand still holding hers. He had a firm grip, Cassie brought her free hand up and grabbed his wrist. "You don't know me, I don't remember what it was like being human, and I certainly do not remember ever loving you as much as you claim." Cassie gripped his arm, "Incendia." There was quick spark before his arm burst into flames, he was quick to let go and Cassie dropped to the ground. Klaus batted his arm and the flame went out as fast as it started. He let out a frustrated groan, Cassie got herself onto her feet, "Don't make me hurt you Klaus." He grabbed a broom and broke it in half, suddenly there was something flying towards her. Cassie closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Projectium deflecto." She raised her hand and the end of the broom laid on the ground in two pieces. "Quit using magic, fight me like a real vampire." Klaus has his hands out to the side, he was taunting her, and it was working.

"You asked for it." Cassie used her vampire speed and shoved him against the nearest wall. She pulled her hand back and right as she was about to shove her hand in his chest a smash came from behind her. Bonnie stood, hands out, nose bleeding. "You can't hurt him, you'll kill Alaric." Cassie turned around, "He can take it." Cassie turned back around, and turned her focus on her anger. She let it bubble up inside of her, Klaus let out a groan, then a scream that sent chills down her arms. Cassie put her hands on both sides of his head, she channeled all of her emotions and out that into his head. Klaus let out another scream, tears were streaming down Cassie's face, but when she opened her eyes she saw it. Blood was dripping from his ears, eyes, and nose. She couldn't help but smile, he deserved every bit of this. But she couldn't help but feel terrible, this was Elijah's brother, her friend, long ago the man who loved her. As she pushed that guilt aside and focused on task in front of her, she heard something, then it all went away, it all faded to black
