"Cassandra, my love... wake up." There was a feather light hand on her shoulder, causing her once peaceful sleep to come to an abrupt stop. She groaned and rolled over to face the person responsible. "How are you feeling...?"

Elijah stroked a finger down the side of her face, "I killed them... not the other way around." He adverted his gaze, "I meant in the emotional sense, not physical." Cassie hummed and stared up at the ceiling of the complex, "I should feel terrible... guilty and depressed."

"And you aren't... it's why you're mopping about." She brought her hands to her face and slowly slid them down, rubbing the nights makeup over her cheeks. "I must have killed at least a hundred... better than other occasions."

Elijah raised a brow at that and brought his head down, avoiding her eyes. "Is there anything I can do?" Cassie finally scanned him over, noticing he was only in a dress shirt, not yet dressed in the full suit attire. She played with the cuff of his shirt, pulling at the starched material, "Go back in time and convince me to not go?"

"If only that was possible." She huffed the smallest hint of a laugh and twisted his shirt between her fingers, taking into account the way it creased. "Thank you for the sentiment, I appreciate it."

"I was out before the whole... incident, and I believe there's something you need to see." Cassie furrowed her brows and looked back up at him, their eyes met and she sensed the way his eyes tensed. "Am I going to legitimately find this amusing, or is it going to put an even bigger wrench in my night?"

He stood from the edge of the bed and held a hand out for her, "The latter..." She sighed and pulled the heavy duvet from her body, sliding her smaller hand into his. Elijah pulled her out of her former room and towards the balcony.

Cassie looked over the side and scanned the room when her eyes landed on a man standing right in the middle. She'd recognize him from anywhere, the man that never failed to make her blood boil. "If it isn't Jackson Kenner." She leaned over to Elijah, whispering under breathe, "When I said wrench, I meant wrench, not life changing earthquake."

He rolled his eyes at the dramatics and forced a smile, "Jackson is back which means Hayley is back as well." She looked up at him, eyes narrowed, "Because that makes it any better?"

"It was supposed to, appears not. Point is you, Jackson, and I are taking a little trip to visit our good old friend Lucien." Cassie dropped her head down and groaned, it almost sounded like a muffled scream. "Elijah I hate you." He chuckled and rubbed a hand up and down her back, "No, no you don't."

"Would you quit it with the tapping?" Cassie's foot came to a halt and she whipped her head around to give Jackson a glare, "Do we have a problem Mr.Kenner?"

"No I'd just care for a little peace and quiet, that's all." She huffed and turned back around, resuming her previous action of tapping her foot against the tiles outside of Lucien Castle's penthouse. "Wouldn't want to ruin the element of surprise, now run along Jackson."

He all but growled and walked away to dip behind a corner, "You should be nicer to the poor man." Cassie smirked, "Perhaps, but where's the fun in that?"

Elijah reached over and rung the doorbell one last time before it swung open, "Elijah, Cassandra... what a glorious pleasure." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest, "No need for flattery..."

"We do apologize for the hour..." Lucien only smirked, "Ah it's no matter. I am nostalgic for the days when vampires conducted business in the dark." Elijah went to step forward but was stopped by a boundary, Cassie held her hand out and noticed it stopped at the entrance as well.
