23rd Chapter

Paulit-ulit na nagp-play sa utak ko yung sinabi ni Dad kanina. Grounded?! They will do that just because my grade decreased .5 points??? I hate cursing but, "SH*T!!!". Pwede naman akong makabawi diba? Kung gusto nila, mas taasan ko pa sa 1 yung grade ko. Gusto kong tawagan si Niall pero hindi ko naman alam ang number niya and worse, kinuha ni Tita ang cellphone ko. Ang isa ko pang pino-problema ay baka mabasa ni Tita ang it-text ni Niall. At, isa pa sa mga problema ko, ay paano ko mac-contact si Niall at paano ko masasabi sa kanya na grounded ako?! Paano rin ako makakapunta bukas? Paano ako tatakas? At ang pinakamalaking tanong, paano ako bumaba ng .5, eh alam ko namang naperfect ko lahat ng test at quiz namin ngayong semester. Sino kaya ang may pakana ng nangyari?

*knock knock*

Binuksan ko yung pinto at hindi ko alam kung anong mararamdaman ko dahil si Tita ang nandito ngayon sa harap ko.

"Ito na ang cellphone mo. Baka naman sabihin mo, sobra kitang kinocontroll, tsaka baka kontrabida na ang tingin mo sa akin." Yun lang yung sinabi niya at umalis na siya.

Tinignan ko agad yung messages at medyo na-disappoint ako kasi walang new messages. I composed a message for Harry para itanong ang number ni Niall pero nung is-send ko na, may nagpop-up na 'insert sim card'. Tinignan ko ang sim card slot at nakita kong wala doon yung sim card ko. In-open ko yung twitter acc. ko kaya lang, ayaw magload. -.-Pati ba naman wifi, wala pa rin?
Seriously. -.- Anong gagawin ko sa cellphone na ibinalik ni Tita?

Naglakad-lakad ako ng pabalik-pabalik habang nag-iisip kung paano ako makakapunta bukas kasama si Niall. Pero kung ano-ano na lang ang pumapasok sa utak ko katulad ng lumipad palabas ng bintana ko o kaya naman ay maging isang spy na walang kahirap-hirap lumabas sa bintana ng bahay mula sa 2nd floor. Stupid, right?

May narinig akong kumakanta ng OPM mula sa labas ng kwarto ko. That familiar voice! It was Enday Jinnifir.

I leaned my ears at the door at medyo naririnig ko pa yung boses niya na kumanta ng Sayang na Sayang by Aegis. Para ngang forever na niyang kinakanta yan eh. Non-stop.

Ting! Parang nagkaroon ng light bulb sa tuktok ng ulo ko. An idea jumped into my mind. May pocket wifi nga pala si Enday Jinnifir.
"Uhm, Enday, pwedeng pahatid ng juice? Thank you."
Kumatok si Enday sa pinto and I told her to come in. Inilapag niya sa study table ko yung juice and asked me if I need something more.
"Enday, diba may pocket wifi ka?" Favor naman oh. Anong password mo?" In an instant, I saw her blushed. Smells fishy..

"D.... Dyull341" Kulay kamatis na talaga si Enday Jinnifir. I was about to thank her but she rushed to exit my room. What's wrong with her? Ano bang meron sa Dyull341?

I opened my account and searched for Niall's profile. I composed a DM telling him that I couldn't come.
Minutes passed but I didn't receive any reply from him. I hope he's not mad.

Nakatulog ako sa paghihintay ng reply ni Niall. Nine o'clock na pala. Dapat, nakabihis na ako ngayon at papunta na ako sa mall but I can't.

Narinig kong may kumatok sa pinto and when it opened, nakita ko si Lucas.

Niall's POV

I've never felt so excited and nervous in my whole life. I'm planning to tell her that I love her. I even bought roses. I hope she likes roses. How will I say this to her? I'm not good at this things.

"I love you Katie" Too common.

"My Katen, my love----ugh! I'm not Romeo!"

"I love food but I love you more. Cheesy...... and corny. -,-"

I looked at the clock and I saw that it is already 8:00. I just can't control my excitement so I immediately went to the parking lot and rode my car. I just use this car for special occasions like birthdays. This day is so special and I hope things will fall into place.
I reached the mall 30 minutes before 9:00.
"I hope she comes."

An hour and a half passed but I can't even see a trace of her. I tried calling her number but it can't be reached.
I was in the middle of humming when I heard people screaming. Because of my curiosity, I peeked at the horde of people and to my surprise, I saw Katen and Lucas.

Third Person's POV
Unti-unting lumuhod si Lucas at sinabing "Will you marry me?". Natahimik ang mga tao habang hinihintay ang sagot ng dalaga.

"Y-yes.". Naghiyawan ang mga tao. Biglang nabitawan ni Niall ang dala niyang mga rosas.

Tila may mabigat na dinadamdam ang binata habang papalayong naglalakad. Ang alam lang niya ay gusto na niyang makaalis sa lugar na iyon.
Sa kamalas-malasan pa nama'y biglang bumuhos ang ulan. Walang nagawa ang binata kundi ang maglakad sa ilalim ng ulan.

Niall's POV

I don't care if my car seat will get wet. All I want to do is leave this place.

Good thing I reached the condo safely. The lads looked at me with their questioning eyes. Well, I was expecting this.

I headed straight to my room. I stared blankly on the ceiling.

"I'm willing to hear your side again, Katie." And as I blinked, a tear fell from my eyes. This day was supposed to be perfect. Well, I don't blame Katie. I respect her choice. All I have to do now is set her free. But how can I set her free, when in the first place, I never had her.... And never will.

Every breath I take, every heartbeat, and every tick-tock of the clock made me realize that time is much slower when you feel something painful. My heart is too painful. Well, 'painful' is just an understatement of what I feel right now.
I heard knocks but I feel like I'm too tired to open the door. All I want to do right now is to sleep. I hope sleeping will help me ease the pain.
