Author's Note: This chapter will only really include flashbacks from Hope and Jed, being the best of friends. Enjoy.

It was a nice and windy night. Hope and Jed were stuck inside. They were fine with it. They would play hide and seek or tag. Just normal little kid things. Hayley and Klaus would watch over them. If it wasn't them who would watch over it'd be Freya and Keelin. Jed and Hope were close, super close. Some thought they were dating.

While they were stuck inside, Jed tripped and hurt his knee. Hope was quickly by his side in a matter of seconds.

H: Hold on Jed. Let me go get my mom and then she can help you get to the couch to rest.

Jed nods and Hayley was there. Hope looked at her mom with worry. Hayley helped Jed up and took him over to the couch. He thanked her and she helped him get comfortable. She even grabbed ice. Hope wouldn't leave Jed's side. She wanted to be there for her best friend.

The next year, Hope and Jed were finally starting 5th grade. They didn't know anybody so Jed decided to pick on someone and Hope laughed. Jed then became the popular guy, nobody would mess with him.

A couple of kids would pick on Hope but only if Jed wasn't around. She never spoke up about it until one day Jed randomly showed up. A couple of kids weren't paying attention and made fun of Hope. Jed threw the kids across the hallway of the school.

Everyone looked at him, that was when he got kicked out of their first school. Hope didn't want to be alone in that school so she begged her mom to make her go to a new school with Jed. Hayley of course allowed it.

Exams came and they couldn't always hang out. At some point Jed would come over for dinner. Everyone would laugh  and talk about anything. Everyone loved Jed. Nobody could ever hate him.

Jed's POV

I finally decided to read the letter after my nap. I had many flashbacks and they were all great. I know I shouldn't have said anything to Hope about her family. That was incredibly wrong of me. I hope one day she could forgive me. I really never want to my best friend. She's the reason I'm alive to this day. She saved me.

I took the paper out and unfolded it. I looked around to make sure no one was trying to read it. I looked back at the paper and sighed. Here goes nothing.

Dear Jed,
My best friend, I'll miss you. I'm sure you don't want to hear about any of this over paper but I hope you understand. I'm not coming back. I went back to New Orleans to keep you, Pen and Josie all safe. I hope one day you can forgive me. Once everything passes by, I'll probably visit. Please break the news to Josie first, I know you'll be straight up with her. Penelope would lie about where I'm at. I want you to keep me updated with everything that goes on. I know I'm not there anymore but I would still love to stay in contact with you. You saved me, protected me and helped me learn how to protect myself. I'm really thankful for you. Please call me anytime.
      Love, Hope.

I felt a couple tears running down my cheeks. I wiped them and folded the paper back up. I put it in my bag and looked out the trains window. I'll come back to visit you, Hope. Mark my words. I'll break the news, pack and then come with you on your epic journey. Best friends for life.

Authors Note: I can't think of anything else. Y'all can make up some flashbacks if you want. That is totally and completely up to you guys. Also yes this chapter is all over the place because I am exhausted. So that's my bad. I don't know why I even write when I'm about to go to bed. I guess that's just when motivation comes to me. Anyways I hope you enjoyed.
