14 YEARS AGO


Dear Rosie,

Baby! That was the best birthday celebration ever! I can't believe we're in a relationship now. You and me, you're my girlfriend and I'm your boyfriend. Wow, the best thing ever!

Those hours that we had spent in your Aunt Morgan's cafe, OH GOD I WILL NEVER FORGET IT. You kissed my cheek for the first time Rosie! Your aunt noticed me blushing, so, I was a little embarrassed. I'm not really into that blushing stuff but you did it...I blushed and I'll keep blushing if you'll do it again.

I can't believe we're so close to 18 now. Soon, we'll get to do the things we want as we hit that legal age. By the way, thank you for celebrating with me. My mother said that we are really meant to be because we have the same birthdays and same age but I'm just an hour older than you though.

Let me know what'd you think about that photo album that I gave to you. Did you like it? Well, I caught you smiling while scanning through those pages. Rosie, pictures or other things aren't going to matter to me anymore. With you, it's just enough. Don't say that you're sorry because you didn't have any gifts for me, it was you and your love, that's the best present you have given to me. Tell me if your father caught you? Well, I knew you jumped smartly and I'm proud of you. Thank you.

To be honest, this letter would be like my final letter for this month because... we're heading back to Florida for a while, just four weeks, to visit cousins and everybody there. I can't promise to write because the postal service is still new to me and I can't really share my address, you know, family's privatization. My driver will give you my telephone's number incase you'll miss me and wanted to hear my voice. You know what, I'd rather to stay here in Philly with you than to be there in Florida but I need to follow my mom's rules for now.
Just one month, after that I will make it up to you. We will visit every place you wanted to and eat anything you'd love to. Don't tell your father about the photo album that I have given to you, I know he would ruin it. You told me that he isn't fond of you dating someone. If your father is a little too kind, I know he will like me and he will love us...I really hope he will accept the two of us.

You said that it's possible for me to visit your mother in the health care. I would love to visit your mother … I will tell her how amazing and incredible you are Rosie. I know your mother is proud of you...even though she can't really remember you.

You're too ravishing to exist in this world.

Too bright to fade in the night time.

Too great to be my girlfriend and only one.
