We got to school, and I got out of the car swiftly, yanking my backpack from the back seat. Luke smirked at me, making me scoff and roll my eyes.
"See you second period Danny," I sighed as he got out.
"Are you going to say bye to Luke too?" my brother smiled devilishly.
"No," I said bluntly. "I'm not." I turned on my heel and walked away. God, I really hate to admit it, but I was starting to worry that the curious part of me might already win out when it came to Luke!
I walked into school with my nose in my phone. I really wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone at the moment. That is, until I literally ran into Mitch.
"Woah there Hay. Watch where you're walking," he laughed as I looked up in panic. I thought I'd run into someone I didn't like, but I was thankful it was one of my friends.
"Sorry Mitch," I laughed with embarrassment. "I was actually looking at the band feed. We got eighteen new followers last night."
"Nice. Any other bands?" he grinned.
"Yeah. Seven I think," I locked my phone and pushed it into the band of my leggings. Since I had no pockets, that was the only logical place. We walked together to my locker, talking the entire way.
"I really wish we could find an actual producer. I mean, YouTube videos are nice and all, but it would be nice to get recognition for stuff. You know?" he said, agitation coloring his voice.
"Yeah. We'll never get anyone like John Feldman or someone like that. But I wish we could find one too."
We reached my locker, and he leaned on the one next to mine. "I wonder what Del thinks about this," he said with a shrug. We usually called Delilah Del because it's much easier to say.
"Yeah," I nodded, twisting the dial on my lock. Once I got it open, I checked my hair in the small mirror on the inside of the door, then dropped my bag in front of me. Crouching down, I got my books out of it, shoved it into the locker, then picked up my things and stood again. "Probably the same thing. I know Tanner wants to find someone, so I think we should try."
"Yeah. We could promote around town," he suggested. "Well, more than we already do, that is..."
"Let's do it. Where are we practicing tonight?" I locked my lock, then kicked the door shut before starting towards home room.
"I think tonight is Del's house, but don't quote me on that."
"Okay, cool," I nodded.
"So, what's up with that immersion kid? He looks pretty cool," Mitch grinned, nudging me with his elbow.
"And that seems to be as deep as his 'coolness' runs. He's all looks with a shitty personality," I shot back.
"What's with the attitude?" he replied dramatically.
"He's a dick." I shrugged. "That's all I have to say about him. He's not worth my time."
"Well, good luck with that. Cause isn't he staying for like a year and a half?" Mitch rolled his eyes.
"I can ignore people for extended periods of time, Mitch. I did that with you for what, four years? Remember that?"
"Yeah, but I wasn't living with you."
"How about we just stop talking about Luke, okay? I can ignore him," I said irritably.
"Whatever. See you later, Hay," he said as we arrived at his home room.
"Bye," I mumbled and kept walking. I looked at the ground as I went along, nearing home room and Luke.
Could I really handle ignoring this boy for a year and a half though?

Oh gosh, that was such a bad chapter. I apologize for this fluff. I just felt really bad because I hadn't updated in forever. My friend from school (she knows who she is ;D) was like "OH MY GOSH I NEED YOU TO UPDATE FOREIGN EXCHANGE OR I'M GOING TO DIE." So I figured I'd update.
Thanks so much for all your support on here. I really appreciate it. I have plans for this story, and I love you all for reading it. Planning on getting up another chapter very soon!! Bai ^-^
