🌸Faith (P.O.V.)🌸
I don't know what's going on with Evan.
He hasn't said a word since we left Tybalt's set.
I have been trying to converse with him, but I'm the only one talking.
He only responds with things like:
'Mhm.'
'Yeah.'
'Really?'
"You have not said anything this whole car ride," I said. "Are you okay?"
"Huh?" Evan asked.
"I said, are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."
"Why are you so quiet?"
"Oh, it's...it's nothing. Just...Just work stuff..."
"Are you sure that's all?"
He hesitantly nodded his head.
I raised my eyebrows in confusion.
"How well do you know Tybalt?" He asked.
"Tybalt?" I said.
He nodded his head.
I shrugged my shoulders.
"I don't know," I said. "For as long as he's been in the music and dance industry. I mean, he's well-known to a lot of people. I know him like any other public figure."
"Okay, but how did you meet him?" He asked.
"Uh, he used to be my aunt Nell's student. He's from Iowa, and he took dance classes from her. She introduced me to him when I returned to Iowa after Rashida's dad got sick, but I thought I already told you this."
"Oh, I see then, and I'm sorry. I must not have paid much attention."
"What is this about, though? Why are you asking about Tybalt?"
He sighed heavily.
"I...I was just wondering." He said. "Just out of curiosity."
"That's all?" I asked.
"Yeah, that's all. It's nothing."
I felt a folder against my feet, so I picked it up to see.
There are a few sketches and paintings in the folder.
The sketches include dresses and designer clothes; some are pastel nature paintings.
"Who do these belong to?" I asked.
"Huh?" Evan said, looking over at me.
"These are good. Whoever did this is talented. The sketches and the pastel paintings are amazing. I can see why signing this person to Artavan Valley would be good."
"Oh, that file? Dave Owens wouldn't let me leave without taking it. He said it's some artist he found and thinks I should sign."
I bit my bottom lip, closing the file.
"Your dad found this artist?" I asked.
"Yup," Evan said. "That's why I tossed it there. He doesn't do anything for no reason."
"As much as I agree that he's always up to something, the work in this folder is good. Maybe this time he wants to help you."
Evan stopped right in front of my apartment complex, parking the car.
"I highly doubt that." He said.
"You should look at these," I said, handing him the file. "They are amazing."
