✨Evan (P.O.V.)

"I need you to make sure that no matter what, Faith Davis doesn't come here," I said over the phone. "I don't care how, but she can't come here. And if she does, then you will see the worst of me."

"Evan, what's all this?" Jake asked, grabbing the phone from me and hanging up.

I sighed, shaking my head.

"This is way too much." He said. "It's one thing for you to do anything to get that studio, but this is their hom-"

"And I don't care." I interrupted. "I don't care. I gave her the chance to walk away from all this. It's not my fault that she decided to be a hero."

He shook his head, looking at me in disappointment.

I ordered the construction workers to go ahead and demolish Susana Perez's home.

When the bulldozer started, her entire family came out of the house.

The parents looked frightened, and the sisters hugged her tightly.

The most precious thing is that the Perez girl is finally in the condition I wanted to see her.

Since she challenged me, I have been determined to break her completely.

Now, she is helpless, broken, and afraid.

Her entire face is filled with fear, anxiousness, and the pain of losing everything.

"I always give everyone a choice," I said, putting my hands in my pocket. "And I gave you a choice, too, Ms. Perez. It was an excellent deal. I was ready to solve every single one of your problems. Not only was I willing to buy that studio from you, but I also saved your family from this poverty. I was more than ready to end all of your miseries. However, you wanted to speak against me and my offer. You rejected my offer, and look where that rejection has gotten you today. So, what else was I supposed to do? I have a reputation to maintain—an image to keep. You could have saved your family from all this. The choice was in your hands. All you had to do was accept my offer, but you didn't. You're the one who has brought this upon your family. They are in this situation because of you."

She looked down at her sisters and her parents.

"The problem is that I don't like it when someone hurts my ego," I said. "I don't like it at all. And this is exactly what happens to the person who hurts my ego. I wanted to settle all this the right way, but you refused. So now, suffer the consequences of your decision."

"No!" She exclaimed, standing in front of the bulldozer. "Please, don't do this. This is my home. We live here. Without this place, we have no home. We don't have anywhere to go. I'll do whatever you say—anything you want. But don't do this to my family. My dad is sick and dying. I don't have any way of protecting him without a home. I don't have any way to pay for his medicine. Please, I am begging you. I will do anything that you say. Just don't destroy our home and bring us to the streets."

I sighed heavily, crossing my arms over my chest.

"All this melodrama is bothering me," I said bitterly. "I don't like all this crying and begging."

She looked at me helplessly, crying more.

I smirked, looking at her family one by one.

The father looked at me in anger.

He had the same angry face that he had the day I came to make the deal.

I chuckled, rolling my eyes at him.

The mother's face is the one Dianne Owens makes whenever she wants my attention.

She looked at me sadly and helplessly.
