🌸Faith (P.O.V.) 🌸
"What!?" I exclaimed over the phone. "Who were they?"
"I don't know," Evan said. "I didn't see clearly. My vision was blurry for the most part."
"I can't believe it. How can they attack you like that? Are you sure you're okay?"
"My eyes still burn like hell, but I'll be good.
"I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I hope you get better soon."
"Yeah, thanks. Listen, I have to finish something, so I will talk to you later."
"Okay, take care."
I sighed heavily, hanging up.
"What's wrong?" Rashida asked, looking away from the TV.
"That was Evan," I said, standing behind the couch. "He got attacked by two people when he was trying to get in his car."
"Forreal? What the hell? Who was it?"
"He couldn't see anything. They sprayed his eyes. One of them held him while the other punched him and whatnot."
"Uh-uh, I get that people are frustrated and sh*t, but they takin' it too far. The hell they attackin' him fo'."
"It's crazy."
"I've been watchin' the news all mornin' while I was waitin' fo' you to come back from yo' shoot an' they still sayin' whatever they want 'bout Evan."
"I don't even know why Evan let it get this far. I wish he handled this situation before it got to this. Last night was such a success for him. Then, today comes along, and all you see is negative news about him everywhere you look. He did so much to secure his image before the opening of his studio. And now it seems like all of that is for nothing. It's all getting ruined now."
"Yee, I hear you. Ion think he went 'bout it the right way."
I shook my head.
"Oh sh*t!" Rashida said, immediately grabbing the remote. "It's Evan."
I looked up at the TV.
Lindsey Russo and Evan are on the screen.
Evan's right cheek is bruised up, and he has a cut on his forehead.
There's a bandaid on it, but the cut is pretty deep.
"Wait, what is he doing on the channel 45 news?" I asked.
"Ion kno', but he did get hurt bad," Rashida said, turning up the volume.
"Good evening, everyone. I'm Lindsey Russo, and I'm here on Channel 45 News. Thank you guys for tuning in. We have something special for you all today. Joining me here today is Evan Owens, video game designer and businessman, who allegedly pressured one of his employees to commit suicide. Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Owens."
