✨Evan (P.O.V.)
"Is she okay?" I asked as soon as Jake and I got to the hospital.
"She's okay," Mary said.
"What took you so long, though?" Wilhem asked.
"They closed the roads for construction," Jake said. "We had to take the other way, and it took us longer to get here."
I suddenly noticed Mary's arm.
She has a bandage wrapped around her arm.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine," Mary said. "It's a small injury."
"Well, we're glad you're okay," Jake asked.
"I am more concerned for Rashida. She is worried about Faith. She hasn't left Faith's room at all."
"What the hell happened tonight?" Wilhem asked. "What happened to you and Faith?"
Mary sighed heavily.
"I need to see Faith," I said. "Where is she?"
"She's in that room," Wilhem said, pointing to the room. "They said she's okay, but it's been a while, and she hasn't gotten up yet."
I went over to the room Faith was in and went inside.
Rashida looked up at me.
There's relief in her eyes.
They are also puffy from crying.
She ran over, hugging me.
"Evan, I can't see Faith like this." Rashida cried. "She's...She's been sleepin' fo' so long...She's not openin' her eyes. I can't see her like this. She's the only family I have here."
"Hey, it's going to be alright," I said., wrapping my arms around her. "Faith is going to be alright."
"They said she's okay but ain't wakin' up. It's been so long."
I sighed heavily.
Rashida pulled away, shaking her head.
"What if she don't wake up?" She asked. "Than what am I gone' do? What's goin' happen if she don't?"
