🌸 Faith (P.O.V.) 🌸
"Faith, shut up!" Rashida exclaimed. "You outta yo mind? Don't let nobody hear you sayin' that."
"It's the truth," I said sadly. "He died, and I'm most likely the last person with him before he died."
"Shoot, you don't kno' that. Anythin' coulda happened when you passed out."
"What could have possibly happened? We were the only two people there."
"Look, I'll tell the police you was home with me when all this happened."
"We can't lie."
"Why not? I ain't goin' let you get involved in some murder case. You my fam, and it's my job to look afta you."
"Rashida, even if we lie, there are cameras at the dance studio. Someone will see it and call the police to show them. Officer Hogan already suspects me since everyone except me had an alibi."
"Well, you have one now, too."
I sighed heavily, running my fingers through my hair.
"If Ray died because of me, then I can never forgive myself," I said, sitting down.
"And suppose you ain't the reason?" Rashida asked.
"Then I'm probably the only chance the police have in catching the person who has done this to him since I'm the last person to see him."
Rashida sighed heavily, looking nervous.

I haven't been able to sleep the entire weekend.
As a matter of fact, I haven't been getting any sleep at all lately. I couldn't get everything out of my head.
My greatest tension was that nothing happened at the studio.
I don't know if they found anything on the camera because nobody called the police after everything that happened between Ray and me.
That camera had to have captured everything that happened in this room.
After class, I got my purse and duffel bag and was about to leave when Officer Hogan and two other officers walked in.
"Ms. Davis, I see you're here as well," he said.
"Is there any problem?" I asked, setting my bag down.
"Well, I talked to Ray Wyatt's driver this morning, and he said that the last time he saw his boss was when he dropped him off here, and Mr. Wyatt instructed him to leave, so he hasn't seen him since then. I think it's strange that he came to the place you work on the night of his death."
I nervously clutched my purse, looking down.
"I was told that you always stay back to practice after class," he continued. "Is there any chance that you have bumped into him? I'm sure he only came here to see you, since you're probably the only person he knows here. Nobody else knows him or is familiar with him other than you."
There's no point in hiding what I know from Officer Hogan.
The longer I hide this, the greater my chances of getting in serious trouble when the truth comes out.
I have to tell him everything if I am the last person who has seen Ray before he died.
"Ms. Davis, I'm waiting for an answer," Officer Hogan said impatiently. "Did you happen to bump into Mr. Wyatt on the night of his death?"
"No, she didn't," Rashida said.
I looked up at her in surprise.
