I don't know what's in that recording, but Zack sounded shaken. His voice shows that whatever is on that recording will change everything for good.
Evan looked pretty nervous when we pulled up to Zack's place. He kept his hands on the steering wheel, looking lost in his thoughts.
I understand where Evan is coming from, as Ray means so much to him, and now, after all these days of endless searching, we have a chance to know what happened to Ray that day.
I know it's the day he's been waiting for since this investigation started, but it's also scary for him.
This recording can change things for me, too. If Evan's suspicion is correct and Ray is alive, how will I even be the same knowing the person who tried to rape me is alive and in front of me?
I slowly put my hand on his shoulder, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Evan, are you okay?" I asked in concern.
"Yeah, I'm...I'm fine," he said, unbuckling his seat belt.
I sighed heavily, bracing myself for what would unfold next.

When we got to Zack's place, we saw him pacing back and forth.
"Evan!" he exclaimed as soon as he saw us. "Evan, you have to see this. This...This is wild. I've never seen anything like this before."
Evan and I exchanged looks.
"I've done digging for you before, too, but this is insane," he said. "It's cold-blooded murder."
Evan nervously took a seat, and so did I.
Zack got his laptop and put it in front of us.
"Looks like this recording got the alley you guys were talking about," Zack said.
"The alley?" Evan asked. "How's that possible? The security guard told us that the camera in the parking lot can't record what goes on in the alley, and there's a separate camera for that."
"I thought the same after I saw the recording, but clearly, there's a misunderstanding here because this recording got the alley, too. Exactly from the time Ray entered the alley."
Evan and I exchanged looks once again as he stopped talking.
